⭐️ La Familia – A Mixed Bag of Great Food and Disappointing Service We had a reservation for four and arrived on time. The restaurant was being managed and serviced by three waitresses. The one attending to our table initially seemed polite — she showed us to our seats and explained the menu of the day in English, which was our chosen language of communication. However, things took an uncomfortable turn when we made a simple request to have the orange lemonade prepared less sweet for my parents. That seemed to upset her, and from that point onward, she switched to speaking only in French — refusing to explain or respond in English. We tried to clarify our request again using a translation app, but she simply mumbled something unintelligible and walked away. It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. When the drink finally arrived, it was extremely sweet — almost as if extra sugar had been added out of spite. At that point, we would have preferred if they had just declined the order rather than serve it this way. Thankfully, the food was genuinely good — compliments to the chef. The salad of the day was refreshing and beautifully balanced, and the chocolate fondant was an absolute delight. Food: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Staff experience: -1/5 It’s disappointing when a restaurant with such potential and good food is let down by an unprofessional and unwelcoming service team. They clearly understand English but seem to choose when to acknowledge it, which leaves a poor impression. A pity, really — this place could have been an easy favorite if not for...
Read moreMy friend recommended the restaurant having eaten here before so I was looking forward to dining here. The place is visually pleasing; tropical plants and gorgeous shaded courtyard. Sadly that is the only positive I can offer about La Famille. As others have experienced, the staff and in particular the female manager are downright rude. Firstly, no smile or greeting on arrival, we were seen by two female Members of staff who looked our way but did not acknowledge us. We were left standing in the courtyard. There was some confusion about what we were supposed or do and when my friend followed a member of staff to the table believing we we’re being seated, there was eye rolling by the staff. We were then shown to a sharing table and opted to sit at the other end to where there was a group already seated as there was space. We were quickly approached by the manager who told us we could not sit there as we were blocking the table for other customers (though there weren’t any others waiting) and we had to move. She was very dismissive when we tried to apologise. Her approach was aggressive, arrogant and entirely unnecessary. It made us both feel unwelcome and rather taken aback to be honest. After a look at the menu and still reeling from the way we had been treated we decided to leave and take our custom elsewhere. I have not experienced such rude and surly individual in a longtime. Quite how she expects to be successful in a service industry is beyond me. Overrated , over priced and an unpleasant experience. Save yourselves!...
Read moreI recently visited La Famile with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the setting was pleasant enough, the service and menu offerings were disappointing.
The waitress who served us was noticeably curt, which made the overall atmosphere feel less welcoming. The menu itself was surprisingly limited, with very few options to choose from—especially if you follow a vegan diet. When I asked about vegan alternatives, the staff were not particularly accommodating. Though they were willing to remove cheese from a dish, there was no effort made to substitute it with a plant-based alternative, which felt both dismissive and unbalanced given the price point.
Adding to the letdown, there were no vegan desserts available, and the coffee came from a pod machine—not what one would expect from a place that seems to position itself as a quality dining spot.
Overall, I left feeling disappointed. While some diners might enjoy La Famile, I, unfortunately, would not recommend it—particularly to those looking for inclusive, thoughtful dining or a welcoming...
