Riad Nelia Signature is a hidden gem in the Bahia area of the Medina. It's a small affair - a handful of rooms and cafe to enjoy your breakfast or have lunch/dinner in. If you want the hustle and bustle of the most well-known Riads, complete with busy bars and live music, stay elsewhere. If you want a quiet, calm reprieve from the madness of the Medina, this is your spot. ||LOCATION:|The Signature location is in the southern end of the Medina, near Bahia, and is an area that is not quite as developed and commercial as the central Medina. Anything you want within the northern and southern ends of the Medina are within a 15-20 minute walk (at most) and you are a 3-5 minute walk to a taxi rink. If you want easy access to the Medina without being in the center of the bustle, the location is perfect. Reviews talking about dark narrow streets and construction sites aren't wrong - but they are not understanding that, one, this is everywhere in the Old Town, and two, there is significant damage and reconstruction taking place from the devastating earthquake. ||ROOMS:|We stayed in the Suite and found it spacious and more than adequate for our needs. The memory foam mattress was comfortable and the room stayed sufficiently cool as long as we were mindful to keep doors and windows closed and the A/C on its lowest settings. Hot water for showering was ample, as was storage. Electrical outlets are plentiful. You might hear some noise from the center of the building or the room above you - this is in every Riad: they are old buildings. This property was well insulated and because there is not much activity in the courtyard, it stays quiet. If you book a more active Riad, you might have a live drummer quite literally 5 feet from your head, just on the other side the glass to your bedroom until late night. Want quiet? Book the Nelia Signature. ||STAFF:|The staff is delightful and warm, welcoming you to the Riad with the best mint tea we had in all of Marrakech. Nothing is too much and they are happy to help with anything you might require. Housekeeping was prompt and the room was tidy every day. ||VALUE:|The property markets itself as a 3-star location, but I think it could mark as 4-star. Compared to other Riads our friends stayed at, from 2 to 5-star, Nelia Signature was indistinguishable from the 4 and 5 star properties. For the price of approx. $220/night, we felt satisfied with the value, and enjoyed the included breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and yogurt. ||IMPROVEMENTS:|There are two areas I would suggest the Riad to improve in. First, the Riad encourages you to communicate with them via WhatsApp, but they don't always reply, even when the message has been viewed. Second, because the main entry to the Riad stays locked at all times (standard for most Riads), the time to wait outside for someone to let you in was, on occasion, too long (more than 5 minutes). These are minor details, but an area for...

I stayed at Riad Nelia for a week and was treated like family from day one til the end. Both owners and all the staff were so kind to us and always keen on fulfilling every wish to give us an unforgettable stay. I had many lovely and interesting talks with Mehdi, Amin, Yassine, Samer and Mohammad learning about Moroccan culture, life and sights. I just felt right at home and am dreaming of coming back already .

The staff was always attentive, caring, kind and funny. It was a nice feeling, particularly as women, that there was always someone looking out at night to make sure the Riad is safe and sound whenever we came home, even later at night.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and had everything basic one needs. If anything was ever missing, the staff made sure we were provided with it.

We’ve booked the hammam including massages which were just perfect and so relaxing.

The roof terrasse was so beautiful, quiet and we had many hours of relaxing in the sun with some delicious mint tea brought to us by the exceptional staff. It was the perfect oasis to return to after an exciting day walking around the souk or looking at sights. The location was just perfect. The medina/souk is just 5 minutes of walking away and the riad is very easy to find after having walked the way once or twice. I always felt safe, even on my own in the dark. The moroccan goods you can buy in the souk are just beautiful and the shop owners were always friendly and kind toward me and my three girl friends.

Mehdi, the co-owner, gave us really good tips and recommendations and we could have booked whatever we wanted to do and visit with him, but had booked a lot already beforehand. I am sure he will make everything possible for you you wish to see but never pressured us to book anything with the hotel which was a nice feeling.

The dinner, particularly the "Moroccan salat" was incredibly delicious and one of the best meals I've had in Marrakech. All in all, our stay at Riad Nelia was just perfect and I want to come back as soon as possible.

Thank you so much to everyone at Riad Nelia, especially Mehdi, Amin, Yassine, Samer and Mohammad. You were the reason why this holiday will stay in our hearts forever and I can't wait to return.

All the best and lots of love and happiness from...

We recently had an incredible stay at Riad Nelia in Marrakesh, and I can't speak highly enough of this charming riad. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality that made us feel like cherished guests. The staff at Riad Nelia deserves special recognition for their outstanding service. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and made us feel like part of their family. Their attention to detail and personalized care truly made our stay memorable. Our room at Riad Nelia was simply delightful. It was elegantly decorated, exuding an air of Moroccan elegance. The attention to detail in the room's design, such as the ornate woodwork and traditional textiles, added a touch of authenticity that enhanced my overall experience. Another highlight was the delicious breakfast with the cutest birds served each morning. It was a delightful feast of fresh fruits, pastries, and traditional Moroccan dishes, providing a perfect start to my day of exploration. The dining area on the roof itself was a beautiful space, tastefully decorated and filled with natural light. I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the owner of Riad Nelia.(Amine Elaker) Not only did he create a beautiful and authentic Moroccan experience, but he also displayed incredible thoughtfulness. The owner sent me the hat I had forgotten at the riad, all the way to my home in Germany. It was a kind gesture that truly exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the special Riad air freshener they provided was a lovely touch that reminded me of the riad's enchanting ambiance. Riad Nelia's peaceful oasis in the heart of Marrakesh, combined with its exceptional staff and the owner's thoughtful gestures, made our stay unforgettable. A place where warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail are paramount, I wholeheartedly recommend Riad Nelia. I'm already looking forward to returning to this extraordinary riad. Thank you for the memories ❤️

I had the most enchanting stay at Riad Nelia in Marrakesh! From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the authentic Moroccan charm that infused every corner of this exquisite establishment. The intricate tilework, lush courtyard, and soothing fountain( swim pool) created an oasis of tranquility that transported me to another world. The staff's genuine warmth and impeccable service made me feel like royalty, attending to every detail with care and a smile. The rooftop terrace at Riad Nelia offered breathtaking panoramic views of the bustling city and the majestic Atlas Mountains, making it the perfect spot for sipping mint tea as the sun gracefully set. The culinary experience was a journey in itself, with each dish a masterpiece of flavors and presentation that delighted my senses. The staff at Riad Nelia played an integral role in making my stay truly remarkable. Their genuine hospitality and attentive service went above and beyond my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms and made to feel like an honored guest. Their knowledge of the local culture, traditions, and recommendations enriched my experience and helped me navigate the vibrant city of Marrakesh. Whether it was the friendly smiles that greeted me each morning, the meticulous attention to detail in maintaining the Riad's charm, or their willingness to accommodate any request, the staff's dedication was evident in every interaction. Their passion for ensuring a memorable stay was palpable, creating an atmosphere of warmth and genuine care that added a special touch to my time at Riad Nelia. Riad Nelia truly stands as a hidden gem, a haven where traditional elegance seamlessly meets modern comfort. My time there was an unforgettable immersion into the rich culture of Marrakesh, leaving me with cherished memories and a longing to return. Warmly, Rana

We had a great experience with the staff for the most part except when asking about certain things and getting told it ‘works- it works! We stayed here for over $300/night and were very disappointed. The air conditioning didn’t work all night despite multiple reports to staff, and we both felt sick from the heat the next day. We were told a technician would come several times but nothing was resolved. The Wi-Fi didn’t work for an entire day, so we had to spend a lot on mobile data. Breakfast was underwhelming — mostly pastries — and on our last day, since we were leaving before breakfast started, staff promised to find us something to take with us, but we were only given two tiny pieces of cake ( see pic below) and one coffee for two people. For the price, we expected working AC, Wi-Fi, and a proper breakfast. When someone did come in to look at the AC the bed beneath was covered dirty black residue from the AC unit and the sheets and pillows were not dealt with. Edit: After requesting some compensation or something, the hotel manager denied the issues with the AC, claiming the AC was working and that they offer a variety of breakfast options. They also falsely stated that we ate dinner at the hotel twice without paying, and that we “just left early this morning.” We had told them in advance about our early departure and were promised an early breakfast, so these statements are simply not true. Plus we never intended not to pay for the food there simply was no one around before we left which also was confusing as we were told someone was there 24 hours.
