If you find yourself wandering through the bustling streets of Indrachowk craving a unique culinary experience, Open Momo and Fast Food is worth a visit. The concept of open momo is intriguing, offering a twist on the traditional dumpling by serving it with an open top, allowing for a tantalizing peek at the savory filling within.
However, be prepared for a bit of a wait. Due to the limited burner capacity and the growing popularity of this establishment, queues are not uncommon, especially during peak hours. While waiting, the ambiance might not be the most inviting, falling into the realm of 'okish', but the anticipation of the flavors to come compensates for it.
Once you finally get your hands on a plate of open momo, the wait becomes well worth it. The aroma that wafts from the steaming dumplings is enough to make your mouth water.
In addition to the open momo, the fast food options available are also worth exploring. From crispy fries to indulgent burgers, there's something to satisfy every craving.
In summary, while Open Momo and Fast Food may not offer the most luxurious dining experience, its unique take on momos and flavorful fast food offerings make it a must-visit for food enthusiasts looking to explore the culinary delights of Indrachowk. Just be prepared to exercise a bit of patience and overlook the modest surroundings for the sake of the delicious fare...
Read moreThis is one of the most famous places in New Road for open momo. For new visitors, it can be a bit hard to find since it is inside a small alley. The seating area is decent.
We tried Buff Momo, Chicken Momo, and Sausages. Taste wise, the momo was good, but the keema filling was very less compared to before. It was quite hot that day, so we ordered Coke too, but it was not cold at all. I still wonder why many places in Kathmandu do not keep their fridge on, because Coke without chill just feels incomplete.
Also, there was no menu with prices anywhere, which would have been very helpful. For reference, the prices of the items we had were: Buff Momo 150, Chicken Momo 170, Sausage (buff and chicken) 70 per piece, and Coke 70. Considering the taste and portion, the price felt a bit expensive and did not really justify the value.
Overall, I would rate this place...
Read moreLocated inside the alley of indrachowk, this place was hard to find in first attempt. Ample of sitting space, perfect to grab quick bite. Visited yesterday for a quick snack and ordered Veg momo and Chicken momo. Veg momo was good and had perfect blend of spices with veggies. Chicken momo was really juicy and had been season to perfection. Momo wrap was very thin which was very satisfying. All the momo were perfectly shaped and made fresh so none were broken. Wasn’t a big fan of achar, the green achar had very bitter taste, Red chili achar was a bit on sweeter side and Yellow achar which went with momo was thin. Hopefully they improvise on this achar. Other than that this place is perfect for hungry tummy. Ambience was...
