This place is brand new and have amazing hospitality. When I was planing my trip to Nepal, I came across many options for staying but this place stood out for many reasons including its location, amazing online reviews and quietness.
I am glad I chose Mila. When I arrived at the hotel around 1.30 in the morning, the owner Thumpten Tamang was standing outside to receive me. He was extremely kind, considerate and gentle in his approach. At the check in, his preference was to get me free with in few minutes so I could rest. He also provided change to my ride and insisted on paying later. My room was quiet, brand new, comfortable and had amazing views from the window. You will get a lot of sunlight from the windows. From the aesthetics perspective, this place is very well designed and you could see the hard work Thumpten and his team has put in to make this place an absolute dream location to stay at. The food was delicious and staff was very well mannered, respectful and gentle. You will witness the emphasis on sustainability in the hotel design. From smart light systems in corridor to the drinking water availability in your room, you could see a very thought and eco friendly approach.
What really stood for me is how much effort Thumpten put in to make this place absolutely remarkable. I found him going out of the way to provide guidance and assistance. The next morning he arranged a free ride for me and make sure that I get to the place in time. He personally dropped me at the airport, too. This will always be my place to stay every time I would come to Kathmandu.
I will strong recommend you to stay here. this will be your home away from home and you will be treated as a guest and royalty. I will rate this place...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mila Hotel in Kathmandu and I have to say, it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the entire stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible.
The hotel itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained, with rooms that were spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities one could need. The location was great, situated in a quiet neighborhood that was just a short walk from many popular attractions.
But what truly set the Mila Hotel apart was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. They were always on hand to offer assistance and recommendations, and went out of their way to make sure that my team and I felt at home. It was the perfect setting for team bonding, and I couldn't recommend the hotel more highly for small groups or teams looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
The food was delicious, with a variety of local and international options to choose from. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of options that were well-prepared and very tasty. The only downside of the stay was that the wifi signal could have been stronger.
In summary, the Mila Hotel is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Kathmandu. The exceptional hospitality of the staff, combined with the hotel's great location and comfortable rooms, makes for an experience that is truly unforgettable. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Kathmandu and want to experience the best of...
Read moreWe were honestly quite disappointed with our stay here, mainly due to how poorly managed the billing process was. Despite the staff being polite, they seemed very inflexible and confused when we simply requested to settle our bill early. We were told that it would “just be confusing” if we paid at any time we wanted, which didn’t make sense at all. At times we would try to pay, it took them around 10 minutes just to process a single bill, which felt very inefficient.
Another letdown was the breakfast situation. We paid for a stay that included buffet breakfast, but on 4 out of the 7 mornings, we were only given a fixed menu to choose from. And on one of the actual buffet days, most of the bain-marie trays were completely empty, despite more guests arriving. That kind of defeats the purpose of a buffet.
Language was also a bit of a barrier with some of the hospitality staff. Given that this hotel is located in Thamel, a major tourist area, we expected at least basic English comprehension, but some staff members struggled to understand simple questions or requests.
That said, not everything was negative. Most of the staff were genuinely warm, hospitable, and eager to help. The food from room service was consistently tasty and the rooms, while basic, were reasonably clean and comfortable.
In summary, the people are lovely, but the management and service standards, particularly around billing and communication, really need...
