Was so stoked to have located a Vietnamese restaurant in Kathmandu, Nepal, as I always got a craving for pho! The restaurant has 4 levels, including the rooftop where you can get a great view of the stupa (you can actually see it on most of the floors!). They offer good decent number of vegetarian options (e.g., tofu pho or veggie pho). The staff were patient, polite, friendly and hospitable. Quite impressed to see how the staff has digitized ordering and billing via a tablet.
Admittedly, for a Vietnamese, I felt the noodle wasn't soft enough (authentic places use fresh noodles so the pho bowl comes out soft), likely could have soaked a bit longer or gently cook it in hot water before serving. They do offer vegetarian broth for vegetarian pho, which is amazing. Some veggies (carrot, cauliflower) tasted somewhat stale / gone bad to me.
⚠️ The restaurant is located inside Boudhanath Stupa. This means for foreigners, you must pay an entrance fee to the stupa square in order to get to the restaurant. A great way to check out the largest stupa in Nepal before or after enjoying your...
Read moreAs someone spending two months in Nepal and in the mountains for climbs, coming back to civilisation to have Nepalese food again would be hard on the palettes (I love Nepalese food, but I do miss my Western and Vietnamese food). Coming back to KTM, I looked forward to having the simplicity of KFC and fastfood, as well as the food of my people.
Vietnamese food is not the greatest that I have ever taste, but it tried to closely match with the original dishes, something that is different to other East Asian restaurants and Nepalese restaurants surrounding and something I appreciate. Plus, there is an ice cream shop at the ground floor that has to best pistachio ice cream I have ever had so it’s a bonus.
The view from 2nd floor is great and cozy, great of the Stupa.
The staff were amazing! (Guresh?) (I may have forgotten/mistaken his name) was amazing and hospitable.

Read moreIt was my first time trying a Vietnamese dish.i really loved the Tofu Rice Noodles(might got confused in name) with generous amount of tofu and other few pieces of caulifliwer, green beans, guccini and carrots. It was provided with a sweet and the hot sauce. Since, I prefer spicy I preferred hot sauce over the other option. But, it was too oily for me(idk if Vietnamese dishes are served with high amount of oil). The Americano was good. However, the view was amazing from the window side. Loved the ambience. I thought we would be served with a glass of water jut they didn't. I did ask humbly that we were not served with even a glass of water. But the bro did mention that we need to ask for it. That was kind of new to me. So, please, ask them for a glass of water if you want to have a water. Rather than that, it...
