This hotel has been sold to new owners and is now 'Kunzom Guesthouse'. They don't have a website, no way to contact or email them, yet they've been there for over a year now! Totally run down place. I used to stay at Khumbu when it was brand new and love the wall paintings, which thankfully are still intact, but the whole place has gone downhill. Where do I start... no office, their restaurant not running,, no printer or way to print out my airticket, no laundry service- the front desk girl too lazy to run it to laundry across street, totally overpriced at 2000 for a terrible room with huge flying roaches, had to ask them to clean room again. they advertise 24 hour power but tv didn't work most of time and several lights don't work any of the time. loud smoking nepali drunk men staying down hall and left their door open so I didn't sleep a wink. no one was working the desk at night so it was a night of sleep lost. this is less of a hotel as there are no services and more of a tenement housing situation. yet they charge vat taxes and fees.... for what???? i practically ran out of here and won't be recommending it to...
Read moreWe booked a room at this hotel because everything else in Boudha was fully booked: it was a bit outside our budget, but we hoped we would at least get a particularly nice room.... What a disappointment! The hotel is old, run-down and only superficially cleaned. The room was quite basic, with just the minimum facilities and no extra amenities - we stayed in mountain lodges which had more confort than this place, for half the price or less! One of the pillow cases was dirty and when I asked to change it they did not even realize what the problem was.... But the staff is just useless and could not care less about you - when we cancelled the following two nights we had originally booked they had nothing to say about it...||Breakfast is poor and not very good quality.||The only good thing about this hotel is that you are right in front of the stupa, but there are buch better and cheaper...
Read morehotel's location is excellent, in boudha itself. very convenient and surrounded by shops and restaurants. but do not expect too much from the rooms. electricity only came on at night during certain hours. its actually ok if you're out the entire day. hotel is currently undergoing some renovations - fixing new tvs. room can be cleaner, just felt that it was very dusty - had to wear footwear in the room at all times! and the shower head wasn't working in my toilet. the power plugs also weren't working in my room :(||||oh! the good part, there's free wifi in the lobby. basically, a super no frills hotel with...
