First, the plus points: 1)This hotel is very conveniently located, and has everything you want within a stone's throw. 2) The deluxe room we opted for was spacious and the beds were comfortable. 3) Running hot and cold water in the bathroom was another plus point. 4) The staff is friendly and accommodating. 5) WiFi is available in all rooms.| Now, for the points that did not go well for us: 1) The room we chose had absolutely no view, and hence no fresh air. The windows open out to a blank wall of the adjacent building, giving a slightly claustrophobic feel. 2) The pigeons sitting out on the ledge right outside your bedroom will disturb you through the early morning hours and day time with their constant bird noises. 3) The kitchen is not well managed. We had ordered two chicken thalis, one hour ahead of our lunch time, but to our utter surprise, received only one. The kitchen staff insisted that I had ordered only one, which of course wasn't true. Let's pass this by, saying it was a "miscomunication". When we said we want an extra thali they said it would take at least 40 minutes to produce another chicken thali. Luckily, they agreed to serve an extra helping of dal and rice, so my husband shared the chicken portion with me. The chicken pieces were cut randomly and only 2-3 small pieces were worth eating. The rest seemed like waste parts of the chicken. |4) When we checked out and voiced our grievances to the girl at the reception, we received no words of regret or apology. 5) We are a middle aged couple, but not one staff was alloted to help us out till the gate with our luggage. |Conclusion: Although this hotel has some great points, it needs some more managerial staff to oversee the smooth...
Read moreHotel Bodhiz is great, in terms of location, and view of the stupa from the terrace/rooftop restaurant. The service is okay-ish. One has to climb steps to the rooftop restaurant to get to your food. The breakfast, which was included in our package, was decent, with traditional Nepali and Continental breakfast as options. Rooms are spacious and the overall cleanliness is satisfactory. However, you may want to save yourself the extra legwork of going upstairs to place food orders. You have plenty of restaurant and café options to choose from, within the Boudhanath Stupa complex. In conclusion, we spent a satisfactory night here, but don't expect too much...
