They do not sell food here any more and the drinks are quite expensive.
Returned to Amsterdam for the first time in last 4 years. I have enjoyed around 15 trips Amsterdam and Barneys have been a staple to every one of them. So I was absolutely devastated when we visited Barneys Uptown last week to find out they no longer do Food! This is such a shame as their food was literally some of the best you could get whilst smoking a spliff. Their burgers used to be so flavourful and their chips cooked to perfection.
So now Barneys uptown is effectively a bar that services drinks only no weed, no food. Which baffled me how this was good for business as you could go to Barneys coffee shop and buy weed in there and on the same side of the road a few doors down there is a barneys bar. So effectively they have 2 barneys bars that just service drinks effectively opposite to one another.
Bring back the food in Barneys Uptown it’s a staple for many tourists.
Additionally if you are a man and you find that you need the toilet bare in mind in Barneys Uptown you will be horrified if you needed a poo and walked into the men’s toilet as they have one urinal on the wall and no toilet. I am surprised they haven’t had any poo protesters that have just done their business in the urinal as if you was desperate for the toilet and went in there to find just a urinal you’d be devastated.
Such a shame to see Barney Uptown in these current conditions. I would usually visit Barneys Uptown 1-2 times a day for food one day we even had breakfast, lunch and dinner there once. Now we went the once on a 7 day visit that’s insane as they missed out on 6-14 other potential times to have my business, that’s just me imagine all the other people that used to visit for their food and hospitality.
I truly hope when I’m back in November I can sit in Barneys and enjoy their...

Honestly, cant recommend this place enough, make the trip out of the damrak centre of the city, it's a kilometer but even if you walk it it is 100% worth it.
Thanks to the Scottish fella that reminded me to pay the bill, I was there the day before and refused to open a tab because I thought I would forget to pay, came back thinking it will be ok because i remembered all I had the day before but turns out I was forgetful, he flagged me back and we paid, I owe that bloke a beer for sure! All of the staff were superb, I didn't get names (I wish I did, probably contact details too so I can arrange seats for the next time I am in Amsterdam!) You were all brilliant, your music choices, your way of being so accepting of people no matter their back ground and your amazing smiles, thank you all for being you guys!
I will pop back over early 2020 I am sure....
Read moreShocking experience . Staff did not even acknowledge we walked in. Waited at the bar staring at 3 waiters still not even a hello. I sarcastically said "hello how's your day going ? Great? Can we geta table?" They finally got one together.
While we waiting for food we are getting stared at by various groups of people and felt like staff were talking about us, maybe they had never seen a brown skinned person before but either way they did very well to make sure we felt uncomfortable and not welcome. Then they took 40 mins to serve us by which time breakfast had finished. I said "we were here an hour ago including the time you ignored us at the bar and now you are saying we are too late ? " The service mixed with the looks we were getting from people and staff made us feel like we were the wrong skin colour to eat at Barneys so...
