EDIT/Addition: The team at Brewdog have reached out, which I very much appreciate and shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. I'm hoping I can update/leave a new review about Brewdog AMS soon.
Very bad experience. Having been a Brewdog shareholder for over 10 years and frequented the bars in the UK often, I was excited to take friends to "unlimited wings" in AMS. What a mess... where do I start? Booking was for 7:30. We asked if we could wait 20 min to start with the wings timer, as we had a friend running late. Waitress said no problem. Our main waiter wanted to be anywhere but there. Super strange behaviour. At one point, when we asked if we could have more beer and wings, he said "No." We asked why, and he said "No. My shift just finished". Didn't try to flag anyone else, or offer an alternative. Grabbed his stuff and left. I get that it's a business, but don't make it THAT obvious that you don't want to serve truly unlimited wings. Over the 90 min, we had 4 rounds of service. That's waiting 22 minutes each time for someone to come check in on you. Shady to say the least and you're better off just ordering off the regular menu if the staff wants to fight you on actually delivering what you're paying for. Exactly at the 90 min mark from booking (not from when we ordered, as the first waitress had mentioned), someone came to tell us we couldn't order anymore. "The kitchen is closed", they said, though the kitchen was clearly open and serving other customers. To top it off, they lost our bill. They presented the bill for wrong tables twice, and then spent 25 min looking through the systems to find it. Blamed it on the waiter who had left, and didn't offer any sort of apology. At this point, I had already put my lifetime discount card away. Not worth the hassle, not...
Read more10th December 2023 between 12:30-14:00 local time we had drinks and I used the bathroom. There was now soap and I asked the waitress for soap. She explained that the spender is empty and didn’t know when it will be filled. When I insisted to have soap she „educated“ me that if only peed it is enough to wash my hands with water only. This comment just shocked me and I said that this is not acceptable and asked her how she cleans her hands when she serves food and drinks here. Then she kept „educating“ me that it was totally ok to wash hands without soap if you only pee.
The discussion with her didn’t help at all and I asked for her manager. She pointed me to the man behind the bar. He explained me that that there is soap. I asked him to show it to me. Then he explained that this spender works in a different way and while demonstrating it to me it was again proven that there is no soap. But he kept telling the same excuses that did not help at all. As a manager instead of trying to de-escalate the situation and solve customers problem he just kept showing me how the empty spender works.
Instead of trying to solve the problem and filling out the spender and providing me with soap they keep arguing as if I was wrong the whole time.
In the meantime the waitress brought the bill even though I haven’t asked for it. As if she was actually throwing us out. While paying she kept being rude while the “manager” was ignored the situation.
This kind of hygienic standards and this kind of service quality in a restaurant are just...
Read moreSurely one of the worst restaurants of my life despite the attractive decor. Frozen and tasteless food, overcooked burger and cold pickles with far too much barbecue sauce, which gives a very unpleasant sensation in the mouth, frozen fries with no sauce and no flavor, badly reheated frozen Mac & cheese with absolutely no taste. I also question the hygiene standards, given the stomach aches that followed my meal there. And yet this almost never happens to me.
Even the waiters don't dare ask anyone if the meal was good, because they know that the quality of the food is beyond bad. You can see the shame in their eyes as they serve. I said I was hesitating about the beers and they didn't offer me the opportunity to taste the different beers, which is a pity because it's a good initiative to offer this service (it's written on their bar, I should have paid more attention).
In short, this is a very bad restaurant that takes advantage of its location in the station to serve tourists in a hurry. I think it's outrageous that they have such a good rating on Google. A word of advice:...
