We went there with a group of 8 and they said we have to spread out onto 3 tables with 3 different bills. This could definitely be improved for larger groups that come for a pancake. There is outdoor seating with shade roofs which is great from protecting from the sun. The chairs are not very comfortable but at least your spine does not bruise from rubbing. There is a wide range of food to add to your pancake. 1 big pancake is 6.50 and then it’s extra for the toppings so could be a little cheaper but it’s not to bad I guess. There is a restroom here that is accessible for disabled people. The service was fast enough. I sat next to someone that ordered Apple crumble on the pancake and I ordered banana. He got the Apple crumble pancake first and had already eaten half of it before I got my banana. They should consider bringing meals out at the same time for groups. The best time to come here is early when it opens or late before it closes because they is hardly any people here. It was kinda hard to find because I think you have to walk through the train station and our group got lost a couple of time but we found it eventually. Other than the negatives this place is good for traditional Dutch pancakes tourists are looking for and for local Dutch people wanting a nice place with table service and outdoor seating. At the end you get a key ring clog...
Read moreThere was a young brunette girl who was very kind and served us with a smile. The blonde woman acted very rudely and when we had difficulty using the restaurant’s QR code to order acted as if she, the waitress, was doing us a great service to help us order given our difficulties! Right after we got up we didn’t realise that there wasn’t an easily accessible toilet and asked despite getting up a moment ago, if we could use the toilets on their premise since we bought a full lunch and drinks for our family (~€90). However, instead of responding politely that since we paid we could no longer use the toilets she snapped at us saying we were no longer customers and could not use the toilets.
Despite buying a full meal moments before and having an older/elder who needed to use the restroom, she said we needed to go the public/station toilets. Not so much the inconvenience of not using the premises facilities but her attitude was the problem. Make sure she’s not working or go to a different branch. The food was decent but the coffee was salty and sour. Either not pulled correctly, defective batch, or (not impossibly) tampered with. The savoury dutch pancakes were decent but the whole experience was not worth being insulted and...
Read moreWas here only yesterday for my wife and I's 40th Wedding anniversary. Despite being from the United States of America✌️, we actually met in this very restaurant when it used to be an underground dog-fighting club, wonderful memories🥺, HOWEVER, this anniversary has instead left me with scarring memories. After being served a stack of pancakes to share🥰, the waitress decided it would be funny to DUNK MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE'S FACE in said stack of pancakes, k1lling her instantly. The force of her head hitting the pancakes, along with the shock it gave to my beloved's weak heart(she had a heart thing) meant she had no chance. Apparently this is LEGAL in Amsterdam due to an archaic pancake-head-dunking law, thus, this SCALLYWAG has gotten off SCOT-FREE, still at large, free to attack other long-suffering wives. I am now writing this review as I fly back to the United States of America✌️, my better half resting peacefully below in the plane's baggage hold, with her face most likely still covered in pancake along with a shocked expression so, if you fancy leaving the Netherlands with your loved ones, give this place a miss. Besides this incident, very pricy for what you get and we waited ages to get...
