One of the top brown cafe in Amsterdam
Even though it’s only a block off Rozengracht, a busy road, it feels tucked away in a quiet neighborhood which it technically is. It has a great old pub feel - dark interior, a very authentic ‘brown cafe’ with tons of memorabilia and billiards table right in the middle. Not very big, so lots of people congregate outside. Sits on a corner which is always the best. I enjoyed a couple of IPAs. The only late food available was bitterballan. Read moreLovely amazing place but the guy behind the bar was a right rude ballbag. We just wanted to know a good place to eat which seemed like a massive inconvenience, and we were ignored when I went to the bar initially to ask.
On asking for the bill once again he transformed into a complete helmet and made a spectacle of a very simple request. Some guy also clearly wasn't happy with the fact we were from the UK and shouted something racists at us, though I guess our brexit helmets over in the UK have F**ked that up for us!

The drinks range from 4-6 euros per pint. Unfortunately there's no food, but the atmosphere is really cool! One of the locals told me it was ~400 year old bar.
