Been quite a few times now. Alone, with a girlfriend and most recently on June 28, 2024 with my son. Always good! Very friendly service, nice bright open shop, you can tap natural or flavored water for free. The dishes are always well made. One more recommendation. If you don't like eggs for breakfast or brunch, poached, soft or hard-boiled, like my son, most dishes are off the table. Of course you can say do the dish without eggs, but that is not an enrichment of a dish. There are certainly a few dishes without eggs, such as one of their specialties, the toast with shrimps, but I think it could be a little more in proportion.

2023 Finally a catering establishment where an omelette is an omelette instead of a double-folded fried egg. Despite the fact that all but 4 tables were empty, the reception at 10.15 was not very warm-hearted. Possibly because I was alone...? However, when I indicated that I had made a reservation, the lady's face immediately received a very friendly hospitality smile. What if I didn't make a reservation......?

The breakfast menu, tasty croissant, 2 slices of good toast, fresh sour raspberry jam and 2 slices of old cheese. Including orange juice and a cappuccino for €14.95. Perfect, service extremely friendly, quality of what is offered also top. Really recommended. If you really want to nitpick, you can say that the oranges should be squeezed a little less hard. If you squeeze hard to the skin, the orange juice becomes more bitter, which was the case.

Atmosphere very nice, open light decor. I go...

24/02/20 Ordered a Ceasar salad with the male waiter (note that on the menu you have to add +3.60€ for chicken which I DID NOT want because I a am a vegetarian). Salads arrived with Chicken in it and anchovi (anchovi not stated on the menu). I am already a bit annoyed (as a vegetarian you can imagine that having dead meat in my plate is not pleasant) but tell the lovely girl waiter to not worry, I will just put them all on the side and not eat them. Then, when it's time to pay, the male waiter has the audacity to charge me for the chicken that I NEVER ordered (and thus did not eat) and when I say something about it the response is "we always put chicken in our Ceasar Salad". Well then PLEASE change your menu because it is stated there as an EXTRA. The cherry on the cake is my friend having food poisoning after getting their...

We stopped by Kessens and had a quality light breakfast during our recent trip to Amsterdam. This restaurant is located along Rozengracht and is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm (weekdays) and 9am to 5pm (weekends).

Here you will find a fair amount of indoor seating and a handful of outside tables. Menu is small but nice range of offers. We found service to be friendly and timely during our morning visit.

During our meal we had the toast with avocado and toast with mature dutch cheese (both €4.10). Everything was fresh and tasted good, as were the cortados. Espresso came through, just the right amount of milk.

In the end, we really liked our quick and affordable breakfast at Kessens. This is quality cafe that we will aim to eat at again the next time we are...

Recently on a trip to Amsterdam, we had a brunch at this place. Right in the famous Jordaan area in Amsterdam, it was a lovely dining experience. Choices are limited but food was great. We had the Welsh Rarebit (twist on Croque Monsieur), avocado toast, crepes, dutch croquette, their homemade carrot ginger and apple juice and coffee. Everything tasted delicious, especially the Welsh Rarebit and the Crepes were just amazing! The gentlemen who took our order, who seemed to be the owner of this establishment was very nice, friendly and professional. Overall the service was great! Highly recommend to try their Welsh Rarebit and for a lovely and friendly dining experience!
