oh my god. this was the most incredible meal. we ordered a 2 racks of ribs, and lamb shoulder, and a jacket potato and cheese board to share.
lamb shoulder - this is the best lamb i’ve ever eaten. the lamb was so tender, juicy, and tasty. i don’t even have words to describe it. if you come here you HAVE to get this.
2 racks of ribs - this was also delicious. the meat literally fell off the bone. these ribs are probably the nicest ribs i have ever had. again, i have no words to describe quite how amazing this was.
cheese board and jacket potato - the cheese board had a lovely selection of goats cheese, brie, and blue cheeses. the jacket potato was so creamy with garlic butter, and was a lovely extra along side our food. it was served with a bread basket which tasted so fresh. these sides were shared between four of us and was just about perfect. the jacket potato could be shared between two but overall this was absolutely perfect.
all the food was served with a lovely diced salad and two delicious dips. these complimented the food so well, there were no faults in the food at all. the food did come out at different times, which is the ONLY fault i could find. however we didn’t specifically ask for everything to be served together, so i will be asking for this next time.
the restaurant had great ambiance and the staff were very friendly. i will fly back to amsterdam specifically to go back here. if you are going to amsterdam this is one not to miss, i highly...
Read moreVery disappointing. Invited to have dinner at this place I was curious about their ribs, as I love smoked ribs prepared with some good spices and tasty sauce. However this is not what I got. The ribs look like oven preparied and dried ribs, no beautiful smoke ring in the meat. I wouldn't know what the flakes of raw onion are supposed to add to the plate, it's a weird add-on. The taste is hammy, but not the serano way of hammy just supermarket hammy. The portion is served with two sauces that I don't see matching the meat. Is it a dip for the bread, or a dressing for the salad? What is so hard about making decent bread? Take some T65 flour, yeast and salt, be creative and add a rustic touch to the food but instead a chewy prebaked white baguette is chosen that adds nothing to the dish. The salad has a nice dressing, but it's a weird combination, too much celery in the salad for me, why not a great coleslaw?
The baked potato, simple and delicious as it can be. This one is just simple with butter that is just salty.
I heard great stories about this place, and maybe the food has been great at some point. But it definitely isn't, I almost turned vegetarian after this visit, and it's definitely not because of their salad.
The beers they have are good, and the service is nice, but I have absolutely no reason to ever come back to this place, nor have I any reason to...

As for the price, the quality and quantity of the food justify every penny spent. It's an experience that leaves you feeling satisfied both in the tummy and in the heart.
