Gourmet Burger — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Don't listen to the reviews left by those french haters. Like complaining about the music? Gimme a break. It's a burger shack, not a 2 star Michelin establishment. Of course the music will be loud. But you heard that when you ordered your food to begin with.

Personally, this was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and I'm an American. So yeah, I know my burgers. Pricey? A little, but it is Amsterdam after all and the burger itself is huge. I wouldn't recommend getting a side if you are a smaller individual.

All the ingredients are cooked right there after your order. This isn't some Mcdonalds where the meat was all thawed in 2021 and served two years later, no this is a GENUINE GOURMET burger. Was the music loud? Yeah a little. But the flavors exploding in my mouth after that first delectable bite drowned all that out. I was in bliss. It was pure. It was wholesome. It was beautiful. Watching the birth of my first child didn't even make me feel this way.

There are many firsts we remember in our lives. First kiss. First time driving. First time you win a sportsball game.

But because of Gourmet Burger, I will always remember my first meal in Amsterdam as an out-of-this-world burger. I had the Sunny Burger (because I skipped breakfast, so I wanted something like breakfast and the fresh bacon (REAL BACON, NOT THAT BRITISH BS THEY CALL BACON), egg, and burger on brioche bun nailed it). Oh man, I'm looking at getting tickets back to AMS just for this place.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Gourmet Burger Restaurant. As someone who does not eat pork, I made it very clear to the staff that I did not want any bacon in my burger. They assured me that this request would be accommodated without any issue. However, when my order arrived, I found bacon in my burger.

When I brought this to the staff's attention, I was met with a nonchalant response. They told me to simply remove the bacon myself. This response was not only dismissive but also showed a complete lack of respect for my dietary restrictions.

This level of service is completely unacceptable. Attention to customer requests, especially those related to dietary needs, is fundamental for any restaurant. Gourmet Burger Restaurant failed on this front and showed an alarming disregard for customer satisfaction. I cannot recommend this place and will not...

I’m sorry to leave a bad review for this food spot, seeing that many people have appreciated it, but I hope my experience will help the staff to improve certain aspects. The food was pretty bad: the fried dishes had no flavour and you couldn’t tell them apart, the burgers were nothing special, I’ve had much better in the city. The service was not bad. However, as there was the possibility to reserve a table on Google, i reserved it, but when we arrived there was no table available as they hadn’t reserved it. It seems it’s not the kind of place that reseves tables, which I understand, but then it’s better not to make the reserve option available (we were on time and I had reserved one week prior).
