Cafe Stopera — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The staff was nice, so it's really hard for me to rate this place with just one star. It seems that all the ratings (except the other 1 star rating) are meant sarcastic or are fake (or we caught the owners on a bad day). We had a veggie burger with fries and a tomato soup, which were both anything but reasonably priced. You could taste that the fat the fries were made in was quite old and the burger was worse than from McDonald's (the bread was actually the same as McDonald's, the patty was as hard as a brick, the burger was small in general). The soup was not enjoyable either. I try not give very bad reviews, because owners are human beings who put a lot of work into their place. Here, at least when we went there, could not feel that the owners tried very much to make their place enjoyable and it remains a mystery for me how it could get such a good rating. I recommend that the owners seriously enhance the hygiene of the place and the quality...

Seriously, don't give your money to these people. We waited for 15 minutes without anyone coming to us or anything. Then we saw other customers coming in, sitting at the bar, and bring served immediately... So we supposed we had to order at the bar, so I went up and politely asked "I would like to order please". The one waitress then snapped at me angrily, "there are other to serve first!!!" and did not reply when I try to say that we arrived before. Then she took the order of someone at a table, who also had arrived after us... The funny thing is that she was kind of surprised when we left without ordering anything! There are so many kind professional in restaurants in Amsterdam, please don't bother...

Hello to all reading these reviews. I work at Café Stopera and a couple days ago we had a group of Spanish people inside that thought it was obviously normal to change your childs diaper on the table while I had other guests eating inside. I was shocked amd told them that it wasn't allowed. Afterwards we received numerous terrible reviews about our Café filled with lies. In the 23 years I've been living in Amsterdam I have never seen a cockroach and any kind of smoking indoors has been banned for years in Amsterdam. These are just a couple things they made up.
