Charlie's Kitchen — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Charlie kitchen is a lovely restaurant with a good food and good prices, but the service is mediocre. Waiter engagement: 10 min (not in the busy time). Ordering a drink: 10 min Ordering food: 20 min After you sit at the table it will take around 10-15 min for the waiter to ask you if you would like a drink. After they took your drink order you will wait again 10 min for the drinks and for them to take your food order. In the time when I was there 10 people plus me and my wife we were waiting around 20 min so they just left and the waiters didn’t even care that the restaurant just lost money,instead they was just laughing and finding something to do at the bar. So I don’t think that I will come around again.

I recently visited this restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The tables were dirty when we arrived, and the restroom was also not clean, which made a bad first impression.

When I ordered soup, there was no mention that it would be spicy. I have a sensitive stomach and cannot eat spicy food, but no one warned me about this, which caused me discomfort. Additionally, everything that was fried tasted unpleasant and greasy, as if the oil hadn’t been changed in a long time.

Really disappointing visit. The meat quality was subpar, very tough very chewy, hardly any taste. The sauce served with the oven potato tasted like being from the can with a strong sweetener aftertaste. The drinks are rather pricey and disappointing too. Highly unprofessional in this regard was that volume specifications on the drink menue were missing and the glasses didn't contain any volume indication or calibration marks. I have strong doubts that my supposedly 0,5l beer serving actually contained 0,5l... All in all, I cannot understand where all the good ratings are coming from.
