I recently had the pleasure of dining at Agabi Santa Maria restaurant in central of Amsterdam near nationale Opera & Ballet and blauwbrug, and I must say, it was a truly outstanding experience.
From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the restaurant's elegant and inviting atmosphere. The decor was tasteful and stylish, with comfortable seating and soft lighting that set just the right mood for a relaxing evening meal.
The menu was equally impressive, with a range of enticing dishes that blended classic flavors with creative new twists. I started with the
Nachos, which were perfectly cooked and served with a delicate cheese sauce that brought out their natural cheese ness. For my main course, I opted for the steak, which were seasoned to perfection and paired with some French fries that was the perfect complement.
Throughout the meal, the service was impeccable, our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making helpful recommendations and ensuring that we had everything we needed. The drink list was also quite extensive, with a good variety of options to suit all tastes and budgets.
In terms of value for money, I felt that the prices were very fair given the high quality of the food and service.I felt that the overall experience was well worth the cost.
Overall, I would highly recommend Agabi Santa Maria to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience in Amsterdam. The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch, and I look forward to returning in the...

First of all, you don't know where the entrance is. 3 doors are open, but apparently only one is the entrance.
Then when we arrived, the restaurant was not full, and we still have been installed to the doors, where we could feel the cold everytime somebody comes in or leaves.
For the food... a big scam. I ordered a 200g entrecôte. It cost 17,50€ BUT for that price nothing is included, no salad, no fries, no sauce, nada, nothing.
Mayonnaise is 1,50€!!! Common!!! Toilets 2€!!
Service was very slow and many people arrived after us and got served before. Nobody even asked us while eating if we need something more to drink.
We were 2 person and 1 four year old. We ordered 2 pieces of meat, 2 french fries, 1 salad and 1 mayonnaise. For drinking only 2 little bottles of water. They didn't even bring 1 more plate so we could share with our child!
And for only this, we paid 48€. It would be alright if the food was good, but it was only some low range canteen meal meat-fries-salad.
Really the kind of place you DON'T want in your memories of your trip...
Read moreMy family and I stayed in the area for a few weeks on holiday. This quickly became a staple as it was nearby, and pricing was fair. I'd like to break this into 2 aspects.
The food, in and of itself, is excellent. Being able to serve simple, well cooked and well seasoned faire is the hallmark of a great neighborhood restaurant. Portion sizes were just right, and everything that came out of the kitchen was very enjoyable.
But aside from the food, the owners themselves truly shone, and made this a place to frequent. They were warm and inviting from the start. Ever smiling, and appreciative of their patrons. We engaged them in light banter, and never failed to leave with a smile on our faces. When we return to Amsterdam, we look forward to...
