So far, I’ve been here around 10 times.

Today I came in at around 11:45, and there was only a handful of people which was nice. Usually this place is almost completely full.

One thing Het Paardje absolutely nailed, is the terrace. The terrace is surrounded by adjustable wind protection which can be closed off at the top by attaching them to the sunshades. Under the sunshades they’ve got heaters attached, which keep the terrace warm during colder days (which we’ve got plenty in the Netherlands). In combination with additional heaters between the tables, this makes for a nice and cozy terrace. They’ve also got comfortable seats, some nice booths and generally a nice layout.

The food and drinks are generally good. Today we had Avocado sandwiches with bacon and chicken, which were good as well.

One issue I’ve regularly noticed here, is that the staff is not really consistent. Today we were served by 3 young men, they were really friendly and spontaneous guys. However, in the past I’ve seen some staff here that was really unfriendly. I understand that on busy days it can be really stressful, but if you can’t handle stress you probably shouldn’t be working in a restaurant/café.

In conclusion: I would recommend ‘Het Paardje’ but try to avoid busy days. Or if you do go on a busy day, just keep in mind that friendly staff like we had today, is...

The waitress who served us very rude and have comminication problem. We arrrived at 16:20 and we called the waitress for giving order around 16:25. They gave us all day menu in front and said we can order everything in it so we chose it.Waitress came and she said we dont have all the products in the menü and ı cant take your order so we surprised. After we reminded her her collegue said we can order everything from all day menü and then she said ı didnt say my friend said that so ı dont know and blamed her friend Lol. Then she said ıf you want to order food you can go cross the street to another restaurant what!!!! Lack of hospitality!!! The best part havent come yet! Then she said our kitchen will open after 5 min and ı can take your order five min later. What is the difference between taking now or taking 5 min later. If you have any logic behind this ı will respect but ıt is not practical and obviously absurd. I dont recommend you guys...

It's sad that there are still restaurants in Amsterdam that makes you feel not welkom because you're not dutch. I guess, that if you are dutch, and preferably a male you will get a good service here. The female stuff act's like diva's. We've asked nicely if we can make an order(3 times) but that girls were ignoring us(it really looked like it Was on purpose) At certain point, the stuff put some other customers to our table, without even asking if we agree. We've got a dinner menu after 40 minutes since we've asked for it . Eventually we didn't order any food. Just finished our drinks an ron away as far as possible. 1star- because 0 stars is not...

Came here for a work team dinner. Quite a busy restaurant and outdoor area so would definitely recommend a reservation. We started off getting drinks and appetizers. The appetizers we got was Bread Aioli, Hummus (tahini and pita), Roasted Cauliflower (tahini and chimichurri)... all very nice. Then I ordered the Steak Bearnaise. The steak was cook to perfection, super tender, honestly one of the better steaks I've eaten in the Netherlands! Would totally recommend this dish. Also the fries were really nice so cannot complain about any of the dish. Servers were attentive and quick, great restaurant!

Interesting behaviors from the owners and the bouncer (in a restaurant, lmao) Getting kicked out for no reason other than getting out of the restaurant for 5 minutes seems to be the name of the game. This place is trash. We were told to leave instantly after we all ate, for no reason at all. Even wanted to call the police because we atleast wanted to finish our drinks. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. I would rather eat Ali blihalls food than to come here again Just take a look at the response from their social media team here, shows how childish this place is.
