The overall review is sooooooo OVERRATED! A star is considering very kind. I live and travel in Europe for ten years. This is one of an appalling experience I had in Amsterdam.
Nice stuffs about this place is good ambiance. Decent lighting and decor. I notice the bar owner is active on Google reviews. I hope my review might help you discipline your bar staffs.
This place is a bar focus. So I guess food is not the main thing. Yes food was not nice! And sadly as the owner kept confirmed the chefs are Thai. It made me sad.
We had a glass of wine and a curry, soup and rice. I also asked for a beef salad but with some sort of miscommunication I didn't get a salad.
Sadly! the waitress was confidently asked me how it was at the end of our meal. I said there was a miscommunication and I should have received my beef salad. The menu was in Thai written out in English YUM NUA. She said as she didnt take the order. It was her colleague. And she doesn't understand Thai. then it was my problem? I DO SPEAK ENGLISH and your menu written Yam Nue.
Lastly I said she apologising or not, I 'd like to move on and pay a bill. She gave me an attitude face and said sorry. The argument who taking food order, I ordered in Thai or in English was really unnecessary. All was just excuses she made to not accepting any fault by her or her colleague. JUST shows her bad attitude. Both barmaids seem tonight acting are better in a tight top, serving drinks, getting attention from bar customers than understanding a food order where she working at or at least trying to be polite to a customer.
We will not return and neither recommended to anyone. As a Thai reviewer, the food is not upto the standard. This place made Thai food in London so good.
Response to Hannah for her Articulated acknowledgement message:
Thank you Hannah for confirming your crude attitude. I believe you have picked the wrong point to focus in replying to the review above. It was not clothing of choice or how I empty my plates and fully settled the bill after the meal, truly it about your arrogance and ignorance.
Your answer has summed up your attitude and arrogance. I am grateful for your message. I hope all customers can read this before they manage to get to the bar. I wish you all the best in the hospitality career...
Read moreA disappointment. Based on a recommendation by a friend we tried this place. We walked in without a reservation. The outside terrace was crowded, luckily we could have the last available table. The guests were a combination of students and hipsters. We ordered a bottle of water, a wine, pangsit, stir-fried noodles and rice with chicken. The orders came through quickly. The wine, however, tasted like flavored water, and the temperature was not on point (lukewarm). We asked the waitress if this was normal. She suggested we tried a different wine. We asked for a recommendation and she said: ’we only serve two white wines, so the other one.’ The other one tasted like water too, however with a slightly different flavor. The temperature was somewhat better. When the pangsit came through we noticed that they were shiny from all the grease. The taste was good but you’d expect a dry crunchy pangsit and not one that is covered in fat. Maybe the chef was in a hurry and served them right from the fat onto our plate. The rice and noodles we're better. Not special. Just what you expect. What I liked was that there was a good portion of vegies in the noodles. The chicken with cashews tasted like a sip of soja. Way to intense, too much soja sauce for our likings. We paid 50 euros for a bottle of water, a glass of white wine, one portion of pangsit, and two mains. For us the food and drinks are overpriced. We...
Read moreLovely restaurant but AVOID if vegetarian. Was with a friend group of 4 and we ordered vegetarian and meat dishes to start. Veggie dishes were labelled with V and it all arrived on the same plate, chicken and tofu in the same sauce. When I told the waiter he said “I guess you can’t eat anything then, it’s all cooked in fish oil and in the same fryers/pan” and just sort of smiled. I felt so uncomfortable and I didn’t feel safe eating anything so we asked for the bill to leave as I was physically shaking, feeling like an inconvenience. But they ran and bought us our mains before we had finished starters so we had to eat and pay for them. They did take the starter off the bill and shout-out to the female waitress who listened and tried to fix the situation. But at that point I’d already eaten meat and was really upset from the male waiters attitude towards me, it was almost as if I was a problem for being a vegetarian. It’s so dangerous in regards to allergens and also it’s just human decency. If the tofu was on a different plate to the chicken I probably would have eaten it and got really sick. Overall nice atmosphere and attentive service, just wish they didn’t...
