As a celiac / coeliac, it's nearly impossible to eat in Amsterdam, even when shopping at the grocer. Luckily I had Craft bookmarked on Google Maps to try.
I went on a Saturday around lunchtime as they're only open Wednesday - Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM. There was a line of people out of the door.
The line moved fast and the staff spoke English to me, which I appreciated as a non-Dutch speaker.
I ordered a cinnamon roll (less than €4), an almond croissant (€3.25), a chocolate croissant (€3.10), a hand pie (Gevulde koek €2.95) and a loaf of rustic bread (€4.50) for around €17! I've paid more than that for just a loaf of gluten-free bread in the US (California.)
The croissants actually tasted like real croissants. The hand pie (I'm not sure what the real name of it is) was tasty and filled with marzipan. The cinnamon roll... OMG I ate it cold the next day. It was the best cinnamon roll of my life, including before diagnosis. Rather than icing, it had a crispy sugar topping that crisped the edges of the roll slightly. It was incredible.
I haven't cut into the bread yet, I brought it back home to Las Vegas, USA to eat. It looks good though.
Overall I highly recommend this place. I just wish it was open longer / more days and I wish I had bought more treats! Luckily there is a daily Las Vegas to Amsterdam flight on KLM so I can fly back to get...

First things first: We ordered 1x normal Croissant, 1x ham & cheese Croissant, 2x little Crostatas, 1 Muffin (which was still warm) and 2x Cappuccino for 20,95€.
For me with Coeliacs disease it was amazing to visit a bakery where I can eat everything without a doubt or any care in the world. The food does not just look amazing, it tastes even better!
Also my friend, a belgian baker and confectioner said that the Croissants taste better than quite a few of the "not gluten free" ones she had in germany so far. I can't stop talking about the Croissants... They were so good that I wasn't far from crying of joy.
We drove 3 hours to Amsterdam and it was worth it for the Croissants already. Please open a shop in Münster Germany and I promise, I will visit every day of the week.
The coffee, by the way, was good aswell. The staff was really nice. There was a short queue when we visited but we were served pretty quick. Apart from that, the food is worth every queue in my opinion.
On the subject of price: It wasn't overpriced compared to other gluten free stuff I know from germany. I would rather say that we paid a more than justified price considering the amazing quality.
Please feel free to take a look at the attached pictures of the food we ordered.
I will visit Amsterdam again just for...
Read moreDo you want your gluten free treats with a side of racism? If so, then this is your place. When I walked in and asked if they had vegan croissants, I was asked “where are you from?” To which, I replied “New York.” I was met with “I don’t think so, you have an accent.” I explained as New Yorkers and Americans we all come from different places. As a New Yorker born and raised, I have no such accent. And regardless it was none of their business to ask in the first place. But did it end there?…no! She then proceeded to make comments about the “tight curly texture” of my hair. My father who was with me started to feel uncomfortable and told her where he is from originally. This is beyond disgusting. I will never set foot in this bakery again and I suggest you find somewhere else to spend your money!
Edit: Just because I had one normal experience previously, does not negate the experience of being discriminated against today and interrogated by this person. You should really consider your response, use your critical thinking before you further alienate and gaslight your customers. Take ownership of your...
