Lunchroom "Hannibal" — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Lovely staff. Great food. Amazing place to spend time with friends and family.

This place had pretty good reviews on google and we decided to try it out, and we were not disappointed.

Food: I had the roast beef with baked mushroom sandwich, while my friends had the smoked chicken sandwich, healthy sandwich and the burger.

I loved my roast beef sandwich, the meat portions were generous and the bun was toasted to perfection, warm and moist on the inside, while not too crusty on the outside, just enough for me to cut through the sandwich without much effort. The baked mushrooms were delicious, soft, earthy, juicy, complementing the smoky, tender slices of beef.

Price: €5.75, an absolute steal.

Service: Impeccable, waiters were friendly, chatted with the guests and left an overall great impression of the restaurant. I talked to the owner’s son and discovered that this restaurant has been around for more than three decades!

Would I recommend? Yes! Try everything there! Talk to the wait staff, the owners and the people behind the counter making the food. Lovely, friendly people. Or just spend time people watching. Amazing food, amazing people,...

Authentic and local breakfast & lunch place probably run by the family (we guess).. Very simple layout, no fanciness, no tourist trap but food and service were how it should have been. They have very moderate prices. For 2 salmon omlettes, 2 latte machiato, 1 Apple taart, 1 ginger tea, 1 orange juice we paid 40 euros..
