Our last night in Amsterdam we hit the jackpot with a great restaurant. We had been past a couple of steakhouses earlier in the day, so had decided that was what we felt like for dinner. Between the 3 of us, we ordered the garlic bread, lamb cutlets with salad and chips, tres carnes (3 meats - sirloin, tenderloin and rump steak) and the Parrilada especial for 1 (both of those meals also with chips and salad and mushroom sauce). All 3 meals hit the spot - they were delicious. Even the chicken that came as part of the Parrilada was cooked perfectly (sometimes chicken cooked on the grill can be a bit dry, but definitely not this one). Did I mention the customer service? We have dined at many restaurants and never have we experienced such attentive customer service - it was 2nd to none and what you would expect in a top end restaurant. We also had the apple tart for dessert which was also amazing - we couldn't leave Amsterdam without having tried some apple tart. Then with some limoncello to finish - mwah! Prices were reasonable and were comparable to what we'd pay at home in Australia for a decent steak meal.
It's a shame we are leaving Amsterdam tomorrow, otherwise we would...
Read moreI came upon this place as I was looking for a good meal on the heavy side, but quick! I had museum reservations in an hour. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. It was quick and delicious. The fries were fat steak fries. Everything was well cooked and hot. I was able to eat without scarfing, and I made it to the museum on time. I think it was the owner who served me. He spoke English very well, and I understood the menu easily. He was the best host. The burger tasted char broiled. It was really good! They even toasted the bun. The decor was a South American theme and they even had Mexican beer and Jarritos. It was an interesting place. I feel like the price is very modest, also. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Mendoza with our 5 year old daughter. The children's offers a good choice and she had ribs both times, the portions are quite large for a child but that seems to be the norm in Amsterdam. Our waiter was very friendly and was talking to our daughter all the time. The food was very good but the atmosphere wasn't so good due to the people seated on the tables beside us, very rude Essex couples and a table of German ladies both of which had something to complain about and did not read the menu properly before complaining that what they had ordered was not what they wanted. The price was good and we would definitely visit again...
