Read moreI normally don't leave reviews unless it gets me something free or I hated my experience, but this is a first - they didn't ask me to review them either! The kind people working at Osakaball were so lovely! The experience couldn't have been better. I wanted to try their cool flavors of takoyaki as a takoyaki lover myself. They allowed me to get a variety in my order, and they were all delicious! They also got a heater for us to use while inside, without us even asking. Their fried chicken karaage was actually the best chicken I have ever had in my life. My dad who is from the Philippines said that he hasn't had chicken this good since moving away 25 years ago. So crispy, tender, and juicy. I don't even usually like chicken. I only had it because my sister loves chicken. This easily made my whole Amsterdam experience! So affordable and delicious. I haven't had okonomiyaki since I first got to try it in Japan, and it tasted just like it did so many years ago! 100/10 recommend them for...
I thought I knew what takoyaki was until today. My experiences elsewhere were full of glorified dry dough balls and tough meat. It always looked better than it tasted and I couldn't understand its popularity. Please, visit Osakaball to discover what takoyaki was always meant to be: a beautifully melty inside with tender octopus, all in a crispy ball of pure bliss. My new favorite street-food.

Read moreDelicious Okonomiyaki!
We discovered this marvel of a restaurant when we were strolling through the Albert Cuyp Market. We had an Okonomiyaki and Tokoyaki balls, and both dishes were expertly prepared and incredibly tasty! The place is fairly new, apparently it's only been open since September '22. Still a bit rustic, but that just adds to the charm. Something tells me this place will become popular real fast!
Be prepared to wait for a bit (10-15min in our case) for the Okonomiyaki to be cooked, good Okonomiyaki takes time to make.
Hope to see...
