Terrible. As "starters" we had the chicken satay and the spring rolls. The chicken was weird and pink/red, and the springrolls tasted funny as well. We complained about the chicken, and the boy at the counter told us, that it had been cooked twice so nothing was wrong with it. Then came our food. I had the pad thai with chicken and my boyfriend had the red curry rice dish. Apparently pad thai now has tofu in it, even when ordered with chicken?? I have had this dish many times and never ever have I had it with tofu. Every recipe for pad thai with chicken online is with chicken only, not tofu. The chicken in the red curry rice dish was terrible. It was rubbery, kind of pink and tasted funny, so he only ate the rice. Also when ordering a dish with noodles, you get to choose between 3 different types of noodles. I chose egg-noodles, but when my dish came, the noodles looked nothing like the picture on the menu. On the menu the noodles were thick, and my noodles were as thin as they come. We tried to complain and got to speak with the manager, who was not at all helpful nor understanding - and definitely not serviceminded. No matter what we said, he just said "the food is good", and that was kind of the end of the discussion. All in all a terrible experience, regarding both the food and the service, or lack of so. Would...
Read moreThough the staff were kind, attentive, and hard working, this has to be one of the most unpleasant Pad Thai dishes I’ve eaten. This is no fault of the staff, rather the ingredients themselves and the methods of preparation used. I ordered a Vegan Pad Thai (clearly non traditional), with a side of vegetable samosas. Although it was a Vegan option, the broccoli had been boiled instead of fried (very soft with water in the florets, leading me to believe it was from the freezer), the sauce was very sweet, and iceberg lettuce had been used instead of cabbage. The noodles and carrots were cooked well, but the overall combination of flavors was poor and I was unable to get halfway through the dish.
The vegetable samosas had a curry flavor, but were lacking in salt, and the crispy outside had the texture of an item with freezer burn. Sadly, I couldn’t finish these as well.
Paying 18 Euro for this dish was too much for the quality, but the portions match the price. The milk tea was cute and the most tasty part. The staff was certainly the best part of my experience.
I believe the owner should update their practices, as I’m not even sure the blame can be placed...
Read morePerfectly adaquit pad Thai.
It had all the boxes checked. Every part of pad Thai that should be present was in the dish except fresh carrot strings and cilantro, which were absent.
The lack of unground peanuts was my first clue.
The lack of salt, paired with the entire resteraunt containing a single reduced-sodium soy sauce (and zero real soy) was my second.
The dish contains copious tofu to make up for the shortage of meat; The chicken version I ordered came with 2 large (a little bigger than a 2 euro coin) and 3 small (10-20 cent coin) sized chunks of unseasoned chicken breast.
Even from the pictures I could tell the shrimp version was unseasoned and sparse.
The portion was otherwise good. The ingredients were otherwise decent, though the noodles seemed overcooked and smudgy. A bit too wet.
All in all I would have been happy had this been a 5 euro dish.
At 12 euro I am disappointed. Not mad. Just bummed out and still hungry.
I threw the last half away; I just wasn't in the mood for unsavory, limp, vaguely citrus flavoured noodles with...
