Tomatillo — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I am from Texas and my husband is from California and live in Amsterdam. We know what real Tex Mex tastes like and the food here is not even remotely close to true Tex Mex. To be honest, we couldn't even finish our meal. The guacamole was way under seasoned, but edible. Soggy tortillas. The chicken in ny quesadilla was not edible. Im not even sure what they seasoned it with, but it was disgusting with large chunks of chewy fat. I almost want to go back and give a class to these people on how to make proper guacamole. HOW can u mess up guacamole?! My quesadillas are bomb compared to tge ones here. Its a quesadilla, its not hard. The chicken in it was nowhere close to how you season chicken to go in a true Tex Mex quesadilla. Our meal was €43. In Texas, you could have an amazing mexican meal with all the bells and whistles. THIS IS NOT TEX MEX. ITS NOT EVEN MEXICAN. I have completely given up on finding a basic taco here that i dont make myself. Just with my home recipes, I could make a fortune if I opened up a true mexican restaraunt here...

A pity no zero available. We were 3 couples tonight, from each me my order didn't get served, even after paying the order. After 30 minutes an employee come and gave the justification that 'you didn't order from me, but from my colleague from left'. When I went to complain to the cashier, a lot of the delivery people got around and I got blamed that I was shouting. So I had no food, and blamed that I was shouted. Some delivery boys even removed they helmets and got ready for physical altercation. In the end I got a formal apology from everyone involved, even a refund from the food I didn't eat. As I was still blamed for 'shouting', I didn't accept it and I will never return to this place. Rude people, that have no idea...

I had the Tostada Steak, and I loved it. Very tasty and ingredients seemed fresh. Kind of messy and hard to eat, but I always have trouble eating Mexican food. Seems to end up everywhere besides my mouth sometimes.

Surprisingly, not much flatulence the next day, despite the beans. People seemed very friendly, but I only picked up my food, so I didn't talk much.

Seemed a little expensive at first, as it was about 10 euros for a Tostada, but damn it was delicious and it filled me up quite quickly.

I would pay a significant extra amount per order if they delivered to Amstelveen, but now I only plan to eat there once a month. Yeah, I know right, that's quite often anyways.
