Like another reviewer said: idea is a 10. I was so excited for this place. But the execution is a 4 at most.
I’ve been to this cafe two times in total. The first time was an okay experience. It’s nice that everyone who stones there likes dogs and it is expected to have dogs all around you. But the place itself is small and crowded.
The toilets are some of the most terrible ones I’ve seen in Amsterdam. The coffee was ok and food was ok as well. The place looks cute, but when you look closely you see that it’s just put together a bit poorly. Two chairs were just broken and unable to be used, yet they were in the cafe.
The second time was a worse experience. We waited for over an hour for a sandwich and 40 minutes for a coffee. The waitress made a mistake and made a “pumpkin spice latte” instead of a “pupkin spice latte” after is said that I ordered for my dog she took away the coffee and brought back the pupkin spice latte. I paid €3 too much, after waiting for her to ask if I would like my money back or something from the menu, she didn’t even bother to ask me this. I had to walk to her to ask… that’s not really customer friendly. The tables next to us didn’t get cleaned and were just packed with leftovers, cutlery and cups. Staff seems slow and uninterested.
Even though I just loved the concept of my dog getting to play with others and us being able to have some food… this just isn’t worth the money for me personally. There are a lot of dog friendly places in Amsterdam...
Read moreWe stayed near Amsterdam for a week and one reason to visit Amsterdam was the Woof and Me café for us. I think the idea is really great and i think someone with love and passion for this idea is behind the café.
Even though you can clearly see this in many details, i think the person didn't have any café/ restaurant experience. The prices are really high and for those prices the wow moment is not there - don't get me wrong the food was not too bad, but just not worth for the price in my opinion. Also it said i would get chips with my club sandwich, wich didn't come on the plate. Only after asking where they are, i got told they are out of chips today. After i asked 'again' i was offered a free drink instead. The problem i had here was not that i didn't get chips, but that it was not communicated at all and i had to ask twice. They would have just let it slide... Telling this customers beforehand is a must, especially for a 15€ clubsandwich. Also it took quite long even though we were the only order at the time.
Our dog loved the ice cream and the muffin with whipped cream and as said it felt like it was built with love for the idea.
The bathroom.. meh, but they had a sign they are currently in progress to change it with the landlord.
Would i come again? Yes, but i would probably just have a small drink for myself if anything instead of lunch and get...
Read moreToday we decided to visit the Insta cool Woof&Me with our pup. Drinks were fine and cute decorated with dog paws.
Basic hospitality standards were off, yes we were greeted by staff but that was it. The establishment was completely empty, three staff members hanging around doing other stuff on their laptops but 3 tables with empty cups and plates of previous visitors. Beside the fact they greeted us we didn’t get a warm welcoming vibe.
There were some cute dogs toys but could be much more cleaner. The insta pics in the ball pit way too overrated. Other stuff in there and most balls are deflated, crushed or destroyed. Restroom is under construction and also there was some room for hygienic improvements. When another customer came in with a highly hormonal dog that was peeing all over nothing was said because ‘accidents’ can happen.
When a lady (probably the owner) came in with her big enthusiastic dogs our dog and the other customers dog didn’t vibe any more which resulted in some barking. Out of the blue the lady took our dog and gave it to my partner without saying anything. The hint was clear ‘please take your barking dog and leave’.
Overall cute looking place online but not so in real life. So in short overrated, overpriced, lack in hospitality and room for...
