DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT EAT HERE. I went in looking for a quick pizza after spending my 1st day here. Everything was going well until I ordered a SMALL pepperoni pizza and it had been about 45 minutes. I questioned where the pizza was and was told it was due to demand even though multiple peoples food had came even after they were seating later than us. Simply she forgot my order. Which is fine if you take ownership and apologize. I ate my pizza rather quickly and asked for the bill and didn’t fuss or fight after the extremely long wait which totaled a hour. I guess I paid the bill “aggressively” because as soon as I paid. The waiter , who she did not know I spoke Spanish says to another co worker right next to me “ he was full of anger , he’s so ignorant”. I immediately said something as to be calling out my name and they seemed more upset they got caught then speaking behind a customers back in a different language expecting them not to understand you. I can only imagine what they say on a daily basis and it goes unnoticed due to language difference. The “manager” also didn’t take any accountability rather then saying sorry, didn’t seem sincere or caring. I am writing this review to warn you. I wish this business to get some customer training and realize you cannot speak poorly about a customer in a different language. After being on island for 2 weeks and eating here multiple times I must say Gondola is a great place with delicious food! The lunch specials are particularly very reasonably priced. The chicken parm was my favorite meal , tasty ! Special shout out to Juan, a genuinely friendly and kind hearted person who you’ll always see hustling, interacting super friendly with the customers, and you can tell he genuinely likes being there & doing the work he does which is kinda special nowadays. We ate here Saturday night. We had read some mixed reviews but really wanted Italian. Our experience was great. The service was prompt and very pleasant. The prices are quite reasonable and the food was great. Felt almost homemade. We had a Caesar salad which we split, lasagna (which came out cooked in its own cast iron dish) and the pasta de mare. Both pasta dishes were large enough that we didn’t quite finish them and the lasagna is nicely seasoned to really give it some depth.
