From the moment I walked in the inside of the restaurant was empty, me and my friend were met with 6 waitresses talking and laughing with the bartenders, they looked our way but it seemed that whatever they were talking about was more important than doing their job. We approached a waitress asking if we could be seated, right away she said to wait and left us. We then were a pproached by another worker who didn't even welcome us with a bon nochi (good evening) or even asked where we would like to sit and directly sat us by a dirty table outside where we could smell urine. We looked and waited to see a waitress we could ask to be seated inside, there was shockingly considering the fact that we saw and were ignored by a whole group of waitresses inside, NONE outside. When we finally got serviced by a waitress we heard an appalling message through the waitresses walkie-talkie of a worker screaming "bini bo sanka paden, bo no ta hasiendo nada!" (Bring you're ass inside, you're not doing anything!) The waitress whose walkie-talkie went off didn't even apologized, laughed and walked off without our menu's. When we were escorted back inside, away from the urine smell, we thought to finally enjoy our dessert and martini we ordered, we were wrong. From the watery martini to the bartenders loud music and the workers gossiping loudly among us everything felt unprofessional, incompetent, clumsy, lazy and absolutely immature. I am surprised that I wasn't secretly on some prank show and was in fact in a fully running and barely functioning restaurant. If you are looking for a nice restaurant with good service and atmosphere mabye look somewhere else instead or you'll be met with dissapointment. The dessert was by far the only reason we were kept seated and didn't run the moment we could from this absolutely horrific display of...
Read moreYou don’t find Ocean House 19. It finds you. Hidden in what looks like an old castle plucked from a fairy tale and casually dropped into the Caribbean, this place doesn’t shout luxury—it lets you stumble into it like you’ve just discovered Narnia, but with better cocktails.
From the outside, you’d swear it was a forgotten museum or maybe a quirky coffee shop run by a retired pirate. Then you step through the door and suddenly you're in a lush, air-conditioned Amazonian hideaway. Vines. Stone. Subtle lighting. The kind of ambiance that says, “You're not in Kansas—or Curaçao—anymore.”
Then comes the kicker: a small, unassuming door in the back. More portal than passage. You duck through it and bam—you're standing on a back patio that feels like Santorini decided to franchise in the Caribbean. Whitewashed elegance. Ocean spray. Tables hugging the edge of paradise. I half-expected Poseidon to rise up and hand me the wine list.
People here dress like they just stepped off a fashion yacht. I showed up in board shorts and felt like I’d wandered into a Vogue spread by accident. No one batted an eye that I was dressed like Adam Sandler on an off day, but the gold-flecked coasters certainly judged me.
And the food—good lord. Seafood so fresh it probably swam to your plate voluntarily. The menu reads like poetry written by Neptune’s personal chef. Every dish lands like a revelation. The scallops made me forget my own name. The ceviche nearly made me weep. Even the water tastes expensive.
Ocean House 19 is a fever dream wrapped in castle walls, sealed with salt air, and plated like a Michelin-starred love letter to the sea. It’s not just a meal—it’s a moment. A fantasy. And yes, I’m pretty sure I saw Ariel flipping her fins just off the edge of the patio.
Just… pack a collared shirt next time. You’re gonna want...
