L'Azzurro — Restaurant in Eindhoven

Staying in Enidehoven for the week, whilst enjoying the night culture we came across a warm and welcoming place. Expectations were high, we were welcomed and were made comfortable straight away. Order bruschetta and the caprese salad, fresh and delicious! For mains, my partner ordered a pizza and myself a rib eye steak. The pizza, great quality and was a delight, I wish I could say this for the steak. It was tough, the burnt taste of the grill over powering, vegetables undercooked or burnt. I told the waiter, did not seemed concerned offered to take it back, which I said I would try. The reasoning, we waiting apx 30 mins for the mains (steak defrosting), did not want to make my partner wait whilst they prepared another steak. When they came to take the main dishes away, I then told the manager the issues, no apology offered. I ve eaten steaks in plenty of Italian restaurants, this was disappointing and not what you expect. For desert we shared a cheesecake, this wasn’t the best. When it was time to pay the bill, the waiter came over, again no apology, no Italian charm of sweats or a free shot that the other tables around us were offered. To my disbelief, they had charged full price for the steak 35e, (barely eaten) which coming from a hospitality background, as you can imagine I questioned. The response, ‘you ate it’, I pushed back politely, to which they reduced the price too 20e, I wasn’t going to argue, I just wanted to leave. In short, resturant has all the potential, but service was awful, I did not return during my stay, a quick search there are many other Italian restaurants in the area which we tried and throughly enjoyed, Quick search and you will find them too ;) . The staff need too respect the customer and appreciate honest feedback on the food, worst Italian restaurant...

Unlike Chon Ng, we had the displeasure of being physically at the restaurant to taste their horrible food. We were met by a man hysterically screaming at us in Dutch and English, and brought us an unsolicited bottle of wine, as complimentary for having to wait to be seated. Not only was the wine not complimentary, but it was not even worth being paid to drink it; we ordered dough balls, which came 30 minutes late, stale and cold, served to us after mistakenly served to two other tables. We had ordered two lasagnas and a tris pasta (which took 60 minutes to be served), and like Golidlocks, one lasagna was too hot, the other was too cold, and the tris pasta was not just right. After complaining about the cold lasagna, it was brought back to use microwaved. After the end of this horror show, we were handed a bill which included the wine we did not asked for, and were forced to pay or "there would be a problem".

In summary, bad service, bad food. The whole experience left a taste in our mouths similar to that of the food served to shame. Save your money, your time and dine at another...

The service is extremely bad. We ordered a simple pizza and pasta and we waited over 40 minutes while all the tables around that came after us got their food before we did. We asked the waiters and they were super rude and kept saying just wait in such a rude manner and that the restaurant was full so we should wait. We waited 10 more minutes, other tables got their food and we still didnt. It was quite obvious they forgot our order, I got up to leave and saw the chef has just started preparing our food. He said “see its in the oven, just wait 5 minutes”. If they had apologized and handled it nicely it would have been okay, but their rudeness made the whole experience a negative one. Food is just average, not bad but...
