In overall greatly overhyped and nothing to write home about - the climate and staff was ok for such highly valued restaurant, but the food definitely wasn't. To beeat it to the point: garlic "butter" that does not melt under heat and with no sensible taste of garlic in it, sour cream which is not sour, chimichurri without a hint flavor of parsley or coriander - you can taste those yourself for a fraction of the price when you get it at their apparent supplier - AH. When you pay 3€ for a sauce you would expect it to be at least freshly made in the kitchen. And bare in mind, most of the steaks are without any side - for those you pay extra, and I would say a lot (~5€ each). We've got with my gf 2 different steaks. Her medium tenderloin was of ok texture with still noticeable meat juice. My rare flank on the other hand had no flavor to it - plain and dull, although with very nice grilled pattern on it. If you want spices other than fine grinded salt you need to ask for it to be added onto the plate (they wont leave it for you to dose it yourself). Same for wine cart which we received in a shape of a wooden block (probably a sign taken from above the bar). I would recommend everyone to try the Primitivo wine they have - very soft wine that pairs greatly with the red meat. The main thing I would account on behalf of the place is the rustical/Latin american decor which is very well thought, although definitely too hard to fully experience due to the dark, that's been scattered with very few dim-lit lights. Staff was very friendly and helpful, although nothing they could do to lift the whole experience up. Overall I do not recommend - there are definitely way better places in EHV to spend north of 80€ for...
Read moreI wanna state up front that 1 star is probably a little harsh but, on the other hand, it does convey my feelings of disappointment quite well. I have been going to this restaurant regularly since 2011 but I have noticed a very steep decline in quality since about 2023 or so. I always order the same: the American steak. The meat was always tender as butter, it melted in your mouth. Never any complaints. Then suddenly, it wasn't like that anymore. The meat became chewy, the animals' muscles were still left intact. I kept coming back two more times, hoping this was a one-time mistake. But it wasn't. The personnel was also completely useless. Young ex-pat's who do not master the Dutch language. For my 70+ year mother, this is a problem cause her English isn't that good. Yes, I am aware the world changes but the language barrière creates a bigger distance between customer and waiter. Our main waitress asked 'how is the food?' twice and two times I told her I was not satisfied, going into greater detail the second time. However, nothing was done with this information. This would have been unthinkable in the pre-Covid Rodeo, no matter how crowded and sold-out. But as of 2024 the reasoning seems to be: "people will come anyway, so no problem to cut back on the food, personnel and still jack up the prices". Happy trails Rodeo, I don't think...
Read moreI recently had dinner at Rodeo in Eindhoven with my mother-in-law and my baby, and we had a truly lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was welcoming and attentive. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which turned out to be perfect for us it gave us just the right amount of space and privacy, especially with the baby.
We started the evening with some cocktails, and they were absolutely delicious well-crafted and refreshing. For our main courses, we both had the combo dishes, and they were cooked to perfection juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
One small downside was the lighting inside the restaurant. It was quite dark, and when we stepped outside, the brightness of the daylight felt almost blinding. That contrast was a bit jarring and could definitely be softened with some better indoor lighting.
All in all, though, Rodeo provided a great dining experience — tasty food, good drinks, and warm service. We’d definitely consider coming back, especially...
