TOAST — Restaurant in Haarlem

I don't know what to say. My husband's cake is the same size. The waiter came to us and told us that there was not enough carrot cake for the two of us, which we were fine with. My husband already accepted the lemon cake. The waiter later returned with two of these half slices of carrot cake. Still charged us for two whole slices.

The cake itself is very tasty and moist, which is the only reason I give it 2 stars. The coffee (latte macchiato) had too much milk. I am aware that latte macchiato has a lot of milk, but we barely tasted the coffee.

The cake and coffee did not arrive at the same time. It was very busy, so we understood the delay, but next time, serve the coffee before the cake.

The waiter also explained that the reason they were out of carrot cake is because he entered 6 (!!!) orders at the same time. Please do one order at a time, so the disappointment is smaller.

Also, the clean paper towels in the toilet were in the waste basket with the dirty paper towels.

We recently had a nice brunch experience at Toast in Harlem. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff instantly made me feel at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the fantastic coffee and fresh juices they serve. Both were flavorful and refreshing, setting the perfect tone for a relaxing brunch.

The menu offered a variety of options. My husband had the full breakfast which was really great and filling and I had Avocado Toast. While the presentation was appealing, I must admit that I found the dish slightly disappointing. There was indeed avocado on the toast, but the portion was quite small, leaving me wishing for more creamy goodness. Additionally, the poached egg on top was unfortunately overdone, lacking the luscious runny yolk I had hoped for.

Nevertheless, despite the slight setback with the Avocado Toast, the overall experience at Toast was still worth it. If they can improve the avocado portion and master the poached egg, it will undoubtedly be a...

Was here for brunch on the weekend. Coffee was fantastic! To echo previous review, poached eggs were a little over done but avocado was perfect! (I can never get one that perfectly ripe so amazing!) Terrace out the back is a lovely oasis in center. Only down side for us was that the cafe dog is super insistent. Happy to give some love and attention to such a friendly dog but he was a bit much, refusing to relax. I am huge dog person, and we were there with our own dog, but the cafe dog wouldn’t leave us alone, begging and even putting his nose in plates while we were trying to eat. This was probably worse as our food was at dog height in the back terrace, probably not issues in main part/front. Dog was like this to multiple customers while we we there. For this reason I miss 1 extra star. Also, kind of hard to find out how to book and Haarlem is busy, we were turned away twice before we had chance to enjoy...
