Woo Ping’s is such a special place. The decor is elegant snd contemporary stylish, but there is a true gezellig feeling that seems like you are right at home. The owner seems to always be present, making sure her guests feel cozy and have a top notch experience. I had the pleasure of asking her about the restaurant and she told me her family had owned Woo Ping for 50 years! She is the 3rd in the family to run it. Now I understand why her pride shines through in every aspect of this place. The food is delicious, staff outstanding and Woo Ping’s is often open when other Dutch restaurants are gescholten. Read moreI don’t live in Leiden, but man… do I like this place! Been there around 8 times. Excellent food. Some dishes prepared with sichuan pepper, with makes the tongue feel electrified. I don’t know any other chinese restaurants in The Netherlands that do so. Yesterday I was fortunate to eat there with a Chinese friend. Somehow that made the food taste even better. It could ‘ve been the added atmosphere, so don’t stay away if you have no Chinese friends: Woo Ping is always excellent.

Read moreGood food, friendly staff, but in the end we were charged 7.5 euros for 1.5L spa plastic water bottle that literally costs 1 euro in the supermarket. The description in the receipt was just something like "drinks" and there was no menu describing this price, which is not only suspicious but most likely also illegal, since then the restaurant can define prices depending on the costumers. When confronted, the owner refused to admit that this price was unfair. In the end we got the money back but sadly it was definitely the last time going there. I hope this is fixed...
