We visited here for dinner, in total we ordered 2 main course, plus 2 small dishes. One beer and one water, cost around 60 euros.
Both dishes are nice, the Bak kut teh is a sparr rib soup with some Chinese herb, a bit sweet, and really light. There were 4 spare ribs and some bean products, I really enjoy eating the soup. But if you prefer some heavy and strong taste, this probably not for you.
The red curry shrimp dish is really really rich in taste, on the spicy sweet side but not too much, I find it so good with rice. It is very similar to Thai curry so if you like Thai, it is your thing.
What I like the most, is you really see the chef (owner) is cooking there, I think it is very important for region of Great China, that you feel the “Wok Hei (锅气)”. It’s not some pre prepared food package that warm up in the microwave. When you eat Chinese-ness food, frying in front of your customers, is part of the taste.
Next time I would like to try the coconut chicken noodles. I wonder if it gonna similar to Tom Kha Gai.
I have been wanting to try Malaysia food so long. I am pleasantly surprised...
Read moreMy partner and I went here for the first time yesterday evening. We didn't book, but they managed to find us a table. It's a little strange that you are given a post it book to write the numbers down of your order, but ok. We ordered 2 starters which were the chicken satay and chicken wrapped in bamboo leaf. They were both very nice. I ordered beef rendang, unfortunately. Around half of it was fat. I have never ever been served such poor meat and so much fat. I lived in South East Asia for 7 years and this is not normal and certainly not acceptable in the West. I asked the waiter to come over to show him the amount of fat I had, so he called the lady owner over. She was not going to offer anything else or change it, but said that it needed fat for the taste. That is ok to some point, but this was not edible. Unfortunately, there was no effort to correct it, and I paid for it when the bill came. Almost 20 euros! I couldn't eat half of it. Never again will I eat there. There are much, much better places around. Photo attached to show the fatty meat I was expected to...
Read moreI write this review as someone with a Malaysian heritage.
I ordered nasi lemak, saté (chicken), roti canai, and scallops.
TL;DR: it really is not as authentic as some reviews write.
The dishes were fine, but not as authentic as some reviews have written.
All in all, it really is not as authentic as some reviews write. I'm thoroughly disappointed as I chose to try this Malaysian restaurant based on...
