Deli Tasty — Restaurant in Rotterdam

We came to this place twice. First experience was Ok, second one was terrible!

The first time we were able to fit on the table under the stairs, the place was packed, so that was the best table we could get without reservation on a rainy day, although it was not really comfortable.

Service was a bit slow, which was understandable based on the amount of people. Staff was a bit indifferent, but nothing away from average Dutch service.

Food was really good, and it compensate for the regular service, the coconut drinks were really good also, served cold and in their own casket. We left happy, and wanted to return.

Our second visit was terrible. The place was almost empty, so there were plenty of tables to pick from, we choose inside, next to the door.

It took about 10-15 minutes to take our order, we called the waiter to order the drinks and he exclaimed “oh you don’t have drinks yet?”, we thought it was a joke since our table was empty. We order drinks and food.

We waited 15-20 minutes, and we asked again for the drinks since they did not arrived, and the same waiter said that they had a problem with the ticket machine, that it did not got printed, we asked if he had the full right order to which he agreed, after that drinks arrived. No food yet.

After another 30 minutes of waiting, we asked for the food… (total 1h since we sat and still no food)… the waiter said again “oh sorry it seems that your food wasn’t either prepared” …. So… we ended up leaving the place with free drinks and an empty stomach.

What’s shocking is that the same waiter that took the order couldn’t remember or keep track of the only table inside.

Deli Tasty is the go-to in Rotterdam for delicious pho, Vietnamese coffee, che, goi cuon. This place is amazing, wont disappoint!!

We have been consistently going to this restaurant 6-8 times a year since 2017. It used to be our go-to for delicious Vietnamese food in Rotterdam. Sadly, the quality of the service has drastically decreased: the owner is too preoccupied hand-feeding his cute dogs (by climbing them on the table where customers eat) than giving his customers sufficient attention when ordering. After getting our order wrong, his response was filled with arrogance and indifference- everyone makes mistakes, but as a business owner, own up to them, instead of adopting a mean dismissive attitude- apologize and move on! Or ask for clarification if the order is not clear. Very sad to see, especially after supporting this business for so long. They even charge for a glass of tap water now. Used to love this place and recommend it to everyone, however this recent experience has left us very disappointed. I strongly encourage the business owner to revise his attitude if he wants to stay...

IF YOU WANT YOUR ORDER TO BE DELIBERATLY CANCELLED, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!

I placed an order through Uber Eats at around 17:00 hrs. I asked for the order to be delivered between 18:30 and 19:00. After waiting one hour and a half, at 18:17 I receive a message from Uber Eats saying that my order was cancelled. I was surprised so I called. A man answered the phone and he tells me it is because my amount was too low... my first reaction was SAY THAT BEFORE. Then, he probably realised that it was a very stupid reason so he asked and the real reason was the I was located TOO FAR (I was 13 min away by bike).

My husband called after and the reason for cancelling was that it was pick hour, they were busy and couldn't be bothered bringing the order here according to the owner😑 COMPLETELY ARBITRARY.

Finally, they hang up and gave no solution.
