Lunchrestaurant Guliano (Meent) — Restaurant in Rotterdam

I want to share our recent experience at this place. We used to come and take away focaccias quite often, and so far we liked it. But this time when we took our focaccias, we decided to take a seat at the high table (there were plenty available of tables). But the waiter approached us and told that the house rules state that if we already bought takeaway focaccias, we can’t take a seat. It was confusing, frustrating and very sad. There were plenty of tables and we could have been told something like “hey guys, if guests will come to eat here, I will ask you to free the table, ok?” But when we told that we would like to order drinks, we still got a negative reply, and we left.

We are still your customers even if we buy takeaway focaccias, we were going to come by one day and have a full lunch when we have time, but now it’s so broken, so unpleasant aftertaste that we won’t come back.

I was really looking forward to try this place based on the reviews, but was disappointed about the flavor of the bistecca sandwich. Definitely missing the Italian flavors and seasoning... there was nothing Italian about it. Even the ciabatta didn't feel fresh nor flavorful, but dry and crunchy. I had to add salt and pepper to make it taste like something, as it also comes with a bullop of truffle mayo, which makes it basically just taste like that... truffle mayo.... so I guess this is why it's so popular among the local palate.

Also ordered a glass of their wines and it was barely drinkable. Not a fresh bottle for sure.

Service was good and fast. Atmosphere inside the restaurant feels cramped and busy. Might give it another chance and try a different...

Hello I’m Ineta from Lithuania 🇱🇹 I live in Rotterdam and go in Guliano meny times I realy like the most Bistecca sandwich it’s so soft and tasty bread also meat and truffle mayonnaise all its one good team 100% and second steak tartare(Carne cruda)also I like there Aperol spritz,Mimosa it’s nice place for lunch.But in this place where speek about quality food I don’t see in stuff this, I by there meny times, but stuff it’s always diferent and not professional must ask come my self,newer helps with desision food,don’t give atention to costumer,not one smile, go sit near toilet and by happy ,no sorry I sit where I whant and feel comfortable not where say some people who can’t speek normal eanglish and don’t know how act...
