Het Kroket Loket — Restaurant in Rotterdam

This is located in the markthal (hence only a stall and not a sitdown restaurant - it does have some bar stools though). The croquettes themselves are delicious - very crispy crunchy outside, and very flavourful inside with pieces of actual vegetables/meat... Much better than the goo you find in smullers or febo. Unfortunately, they normally only have maximum 1 or 2 people working there, and (from what I can see) quite an inefficient system. So you can wait up to 20 mins for one croquette.

Edit: I see Het Kroket Loket has replied. But just want to re-state my point. I've been here quite a few times and it is normal to wait 20 mins for one croquette. It takes ages for what it is (as stated below, it should only be 4 mins) but in my experience...

I went with my girlfriend back to this wonderful place where I once tasted some of the best ‘kroketten’ ever. Unfortunately it was one if the worst displays of service I have seen in a long time. There was 1 customer before us, still took 15 minutes to make an order. They had no mayonnaise or bitterballen, which they said beforehand. We tried the 6 variations of kroketten. I never thought that I had to wait 45 minutes for a few snacks. One girl seemed to work, guess the other two were there for decoration? In the end we received not what we ordered. Many of the same stuff instead if a variation. This should just be some basic organisation to make this work?? Shame to had this experience, because they are tasty, but will avoid this place...

Staff is so sweet and friendly. But I personally didn’t really like the vegan beef bitterballen or kroket that I got. They didn’t taste anything like beef or any vegan beef substitute. Consistency was also unpleasant, like mashed potatoes, no bite or chew. I’ve never had regular bitterballen or kroket so I’m not sure if that’s normal. I know there’s soy in the two, but I believe that the bitterballen is mostly made out of potatoes (that’s all it tasted of), and I’m not sure what the kroket is made out of. I wish I tried a different flavor like cheese or...
