I’m now sitting in Toronto but wishing I could ride to the Marktaal to get another samosa chaat. Toronto has great south Asian food but I have yet to find an experience like 55 Bombay. I have only ever had the Samosa Chaat at 55, but reading the other reviews here I really should branch out (Pani Puri!). The samosa chaat here is fantastic. Full of flavours, rich in colours and textures, all supported by a great samosa. I always order a chai to have with it, time permitting. Excellent chai. The only drawback to 55 Bombay I’m aware of, is that it sometimes takes a while to get your order. This is not a criticism as such, but just a warning if you are trying to grab something quickly before you run to Centraal for your train. The time it takes to get your food will well worth it, plus you can chat (no pun intended) with the lovely ladies making your food. Bonus!...
Read moreWe recently visited Bombay Street, and it's a haven for anyone craving authentic Indian street food. The pani puri, pakora, samosa chaat, and paratha paneer are exceptional, delivering a delightful burst of flavors true to traditional street food. The spiciness adds an extra kick that makes every bite memorable.
Despite the culinary brilliance, I found the prices a tad higher than expected. Additionally, the service speed was a bit slow, which might test your patience during peak hours. However, the well-placed locations are always bustling with activity, creating a lively atmosphere.
If you're a street food enthusiast willing to overlook the slightly higher prices and slower service for an authentic experience, Bombay Street is a must-try. The diverse menu and vibrant ambiance make it worth the visit, providing a flavorful journey through the bustling...
Read moreDuring my recent trip to Rotterdam, visited this Indian Restaurant and had few snacks items.
It is a Vegetarian restaurant offering Indian cuisine. They have multiple snack options along with few options for main course. The food quality is decent.
They also sell boxes of laddoo, gulab jamun etc.
I enjoyed the food and had good conversation with Rani ji who is owner.
Do note that items like parantha etc are prepared in advance and kept ready. It is reheated when you ask for the same. This is something which I found bit odd.
Further note that there are only limited chairs and one small table for dine-in.
Opens daily at 10 am. In evening Markthal Shopping Hall door close by 7:50 pm and so need to reach their prior. Once inside you can...
