Rude staff, very stale desserts, got charged a random amount in the end. I ordered one portion of basbousa and one kunafa, because to me it was super obvious that the Kunafa was fresh but the other desserts seemed days old. (I am Syrian so these desserts are very well known to me) First, I was refused the Kunafa because it was too hot and they would not be able to cut it. I asked when it could be served and was willing to wait, but they again refused the portion of kunafa and instead tried to sell me other old and stale looking desserts informing me it’s “the same thing”, assuming I don’t know what the differences are. On top of that I was overcharged for the three pieces of literally THE WORST dessert I had in my life, which I could not finish because I was scared it would upset my stomach. Truly a disgrace to our cultural desserts!!! I could also see the different ways in which this man was treating “his own people” vs people from other cultures. Maybe you were having a bad day but no need to be so rude.

I would surely recommend this lovely restaurant. It’s like a hidden gem in the Chinatown in Denhaag (The Hague). they have delicious affordable Syrian dishes. I personally love their Arabic showarma, it comes in a generous amount and tastes SO GOOD. Crispy chicken was also 10/10. Also the staff is super friendly and sweet.
