Bagels & Beans (Plaats) — Restaurant in The Hague

Sadly Bagels & Beans is not what it used to be anymore. The bagels are still fresh and delicous and so is the cream cheese.

The drinks not so much. The last three times I went to different stores and ordered a drink with melon or mango fruit pieces, they always come without the fruit pieces. When I ask about it they inform you "oh we are out". It would be nice to be informed about this when you order. Not after you get the drink. I know it might seem like a small thing, but having fruit pieces in it is what makes for half the price and the extra quality and the reason for ordering it in the first place. At least they offered an alternative drink instead.

My latest experience in this restaurant was the worst I ever had due to the poor customer service. I was ignored, given a dirty glass missing the fruit bits, upon raising this issue snapped at by the waitress that it wasn't all her fault and I could be more polite about it (I was calm and objective and never blamed her personally), experienced a mild medical emergency due to this (luckily my friend trained in first aid took care of me) and none of the staff cared about this for quite a while (after it already had started calming down another waitress offered her help). I'm really sorry that the one waitress had a bad day. But this is really no way to treat your customers. I will avoid eating out at this place in the future (maybe I'll just take some bagels to go instead....). Very upsetting and dissapointing. You'd hope they would care at least a little about...

Really didn’t want to share a negative review of this place because, living with coeliacs, I normally like to give a shout out to places that provide good gluten free options. The gluten free “bagel” is more like bagel-shaped bread - it’s just not like eating a bagel at all and I’d rather places admitted that they can’t recreate something without gluten than charge extra for a rubbish alternative. The cream-cheese bagels are supposed to come with the cream cheese on the side - really bizarre. I’m supposed to make my own bagel up? Anyway mine didn’t so I waited 15 minutes to be brought the cream cheese to spread on my cold, sad, crumbling gf bread. The server apologised that they’d forgotten about the cheese but when I asked why it wasn’t just in the bagel anyway she said some people don’t like it. Sorry but who orders a cream cheese bagel but doesn’t like the cream cheese? The ingredients were all really tasty so I have to give credit there, and I could tell everyone else was enjoying their actual bagels which just made it sadder. Such a delicious kind of bagels, first to choose your preferable kind of bagel then go for their great option to put inside in their excellent menu of choice!

I choose tomato bagel and ordered an Egg salade! Wooow is is super delicious, of course will be order from them again with other option to try more and more 😍

Don't feel sad when you see the food was not fitting and organized well inside your bagel because it is for to go and of cource by walking with it, it will sightly disturbing. However, with a spoon you will be able to bring it back again, and better to eat in for more enjoyable 😍

One more thing to be mentioned, I really in love with their kindles staff and how they explain to you everything you want to know!
