Came here again in April 2023. Quality of the dim sum was not as great as last time we came here (review below) Most of the steamed dim sum was dry (shrimp dumpling, siu mai) and the stir fry beef with noodle was not tasty at all. The turnip cake with xo sauce was probably the only dish that was good. Degraded from 4 to 3 stars. Gonna try some place else next time.

According to the Chinese grapevine, a lot of people like Full Moon City In the Hague so we decided to give it a try. First off, the food was a four star. The portions are good, presentation is good, the taste was overall nice but a tiny bit bland for some dishes. Especially the dishes that had rice noodle in it. The shrimp in the "ha kau" was tasty but would have been better with some bamboo shoots in it. The siu mai with chicken and truffle was delicious! The stir fry rice noodle with beef was nice but was missing what we in Cantonese would call "wok air". The steamed buns were nice as well, although the lotus paste bun had more "bun" than filling. We ordered swiftly upon sitting down and the food came very quickly.

Regarding the staff and restaurant setting, Full Moon City gets 2-3 star rating. There is little space between the tables and even the staff had to maneuver through them. The staff was not friendly and some of them looked as if (what we could say in Cantonese) the whole world owed them money. It's not any different if we go for dim sum in Hong Kong but I still get annoyed by it...

The tea cost 2,95 per person according to the bill, although they charged us as 1 person even though there were 3 of us. It's important to note that they charge 50 cent for their environment friendly take away boxes (per piece) and 10 ct for a plastic bag. So be aware of that when you decide to keep the leftovers. We used only 2 of 3 take away boxes we initially asked for and decided to use our own bag instead of theirs. We made it clear to the waitress when she came with the bill. Despite that we still needed to ask her to adjust the bill and deduct the unused...

We had our office Chinese New Year lunch at Full Moon City in The Hague, and it was one of the best meals I have organised for the team. The entire experience was smooth and efficient. We had pre-ordered in advance, and when I went the day before to make sure everything was right, Alex from the staff was super helpful in adjusting the quantities so we would have enough variety without going overboard. When we arrived, the starters were already served within minutes, along with hot tea.

The food…wow! We had #TjaSeiuw woe kok, baked bean curd rolls, #hagao, vegan #chichow, koeloyu fish, beef with bami, vegetarian tofu clay pot, chicken with honey and pepper sauce, and vegan shiitake dumplings. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The portions were very generous, and when we could not finish everything, the staff brought us boxes so we could each pack something to enjoy later.

A highlight was the fish—when it was served, one of the staff members immediately offered to help fillet it, and he did such a fantastic job that we could savour every bite without any effort.

The restaurant offers vegan, vegetarian, and even halal options if needed, which makes it a great spot for diverse groups. The space is large, with many Chinese families dining there, which is always a good sign. There are also escalators for those who cannot use the stairs.

The only minor downside is that some staff members seemed a bit rushed or less smiley at times, especially when it got busy. But overall, the service was efficient, and the food absolutely delivered.

Highly recommend Full Moon City for anyone craving authentic Chinese food...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Full Moon City in Den Haag, and it was an absolute culinary delight. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is impeccable.

The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, from classic favorites like Peking duck to more adventurous options like spicy Sichuan shrimp. The food was prepared to perfection, with vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients.

A Symphony of Flavors:

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the enticing aroma of sizzling wok-fried dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of options, catering to both seasoned Chinese food enthusiasts and those new to the cuisine.

Dim Sum: The dim sum selection is a must-try, with delicate dumplings filled with savory combinations like pork and shrimp, or vegetarian options like spinach and tofu.

A Feast for the Senses:

The presentation of the dishes is as impressive as the flavors. Each plate is a colorful masterpiece, with vibrant vegetables, succulent meats, and glistening sauces. The portions are generous, ensuring you'll leave feeling satisfied.

A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere:

The restaurant's ambiance is cozy and inviting, with friendly and attentive staff. The decor is simple yet elegant, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.

A Celestial Culinary Journey:

If you're looking for a truly authentic and delicious Chinese dining experience in Den Haag, Full Moon City is a must-visit. With its exceptional food, warm atmosphere, and reasonable prices, it's no wonder this restaurant has earned a...

No reservations so they placed us in a small corner that’s poorly maintained. Service of the staff was all about bringing dishes. They were reluctant to introduce dishes to guests and will leave you alone to decide on your order. After you write your food items, they will confirm your order and serve later. The dim sum platter is good for sampling different dim sum pieces. We particularly like the xiao long bao ( marinated pork dumpling with white skin) but all the dim sum are sticking onto the paper. We also ordered a prawn dumpling soup (siu kow), texture of the prawn fillings are okay but the entire bowl is tasteless. Not sure if it’s common here to have tasteless soups but I’ve never encountered this anywhere in asia countries. The taro deep fried dish is hollow. Very little fillings for the price paid. The stir fry rib eye beef with thick rice noodles is badly executed. Rib eye was overcooked and rice noodles are sticking together. They are probably sticky even before frying. The chef shouldn’t have used these rice noodles to stir fry. I didn’t expect this standard from a popular 4.2 rating Hong Kong style restaurant. The stir fry dishes showcased how little pride the chef has for his own creations.
