Came a long way for this so I slightly expect a little higher so I’d like to ensure the owner and other visitors that this is just my personal opinion and people’s opinions mary vary according to their taste.

1/ Service: 10/10 so attentive staff. so cute, very friendly and always check in on customers note to owner: allow employees to prioritize payment FIRST before serving because the place can get very crowded on the weekend leading to difficulty for employees to observe every area 2/ Atmosphere: SO AMAZING!! Good for dates or relaxing also. Definitely aesthetic, beautiful and nicely decorated. Japanese vibe. So so chill 10/10 2/ Food & drink: Honestly, as an Asian, this is not entirely my taste. Doesn’t mean the drinks are bad but it’s like any other average European-matcha cafes: so something very nicely decorated but the drinks are rather ā€˜grassy’. No offense here at all, just personal taste. I still haven’t found ā€˜THE’ place in the Netherlands yet for matcha. Will be on a look then šŸµ Cheesecake was a little bit too sour instead of sweet.

Overall great staff, great place but average food & drinks. Will definitely visit if they adjust their...

matcha heaven for matcha lovers! very cute place with lots of things to pick & choose from. came here with a friend to get some work done. we sat here for 2 hours i think and we ordered 2 drinks and a dessert each. i started off with a iced vanilla matcha latte (with oat milk) and she had an elderflower matcha mocktail. i must say i wouldn’t recommend the vanilla matcha latte as you couldn’t taste the vanilla. i had a matcha cheesecake while she had a cherry matcha crumble cake (i think?) and they were both veryyy delicious. for our second drinks i had the elderflower matcha mocktail which was very nice and my friend had the japanese chai latte which was also kinda bland… so out of 3 drinks (vanilla matcha latte, elderflower matcha mocktail and japanese chai latte) only one drink we would both actually get again. i will definitely come here again though and try different drinks because the actual matcha itself (as in the quality) was really...

Hug the tea moved to a more spacious location and now has more tables for customers to enjoy their drinks and food. A big plus since the previous location was quite small.

They have matcha tea and items you'll need to make your matcha yourself for sale, both in the shop and online.

During the re-opening I visited the place and was able to order their high tea for 2 persons. I was disappointed that their matcha products barely had any matcha tastes at all. Perhaps it's catered for people who don't really like that strong matcha taste, but I was sorely disappointed in how anything barely tasted of matcha. For the price of €24.95 per person, the quantity wasn't also that much. We left and went for more food elsewhere.

If you're looking for healthy drinks and food, Hug the tea is your place to go. If you're looking for matcha flavored food,...
