I've been to Bruschetta several times before and usually love it here. However, my latest visit for a special occasion wasn't great, which is really disappointing.
The biggest problem was where they seated us. My chair was right by the front door - and I mean right by it. Every time someone came in or out, the door would hit the back of my chair. Super annoying, especially when you're trying to enjoy a nice meal!
The other issue was the table size. Look, I get that they want their food to look fancy with these huge decorative plates, but our table was way too small for them. We spent the whole night playing a weird game of plate Tetris just to fit everything. It made the whole experience pretty uncomfortable.
It's a shame because I know Bruschetta can do better - I've had great experiences here before. The food is still good, but they really need to think about these practical things that make a big difference to diners.
Some suggestions for the restaurant: Please don't put chairs where the door can hit them Either get bigger tables or smaller plates Maybe save those front tables for smaller groups Rethink the layout near the entrance
I still think Bruschetta has good food, but these issues really put a damper on what was supposed to be a special night out. For the prices they charge, they need to fix these basic...
Read moreStopped by here whilst in town for the evening. The reviews suggested this was a very good Italian restaurant… the reviews were spot on!
I had their prawn and asparagus special for a starter and the burrata pizza for main.
I’m not a massive fan of prawns but this starter really impressed me. It was presented exceptionally and the dish tasted fantastic. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who goes there this week!
The burrata pizza was also very enjoyable and was a reasonable size, I could barely finish the meal so any larger would have been wasted on me.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Both waiters would stop what they were doing to check on us. They found us a table despite a busy evening and no booking (note to self, book next time!). They took the time to explain the specials and explain any dishes that we hadn’t seen before.
On another note, the pasta dishes that other tables ordered smelt amazing and were obviously enjoyed by the other patrons.
Prices seemed fair, we paid €100 for two starts, two mains, two beers and a large bottle of water. Given the quality, the portion sizes and the service, I think this...
Read moreCame here for a friend's birthday for the first time. As we are all on a student budget most of us ordered a pizza. Though I initially thought my prosciutto e funghi was still on the expensive side (17 euros) it was absolutely worth every cent. I have not eaten such a good pizza in a long time. They provide you with free bread and some olive oil while you wait for your food, and other meals were often prepped within the cheese wheel that is done right inside the restaurant (watching pasta being lit on fire in a wheel of cheese definitely counts as entertainment). The staff is Italian as well and really contribute to the Italian atmosphere you would be expecting from an Italian restaurant. The place is small and could perhaps use a bit more decoration, but nevertheless feels very lively and homey. Though unfortunately my student wallet cannot afford to be a regular, I wish could come...
