Lapsang — Restaurant in The Hague

Very rude and discriminatory owner. I had dinner with a friend and everything went well until I asked how can I reserve a place for my parents and us when they come visit from abroad. His response was “I want a certain crowd in the restaurant, certain mood”. I thought he was joking so I said that he shouldn’t worry so how can we order a place? He then said “only the people who have my number can order a place”. Still thinking he was joking I asked for his number then, and then he said he is not going to give it to me. I just thought it was super weird so I talked with the other “owner” and explained the situation. Jokingly he said “yes yes I will go talk to him”. I think it’s a shame cause the food is nice and we had good experience before but I really hope someone will just sue him for a discriminatory act. When you refuse accepting customers based on their age or gender or whatever reason that he thought we were not cool enough it’s against the law in the NL and not only...

This is my third time here.

The first two times I didn't pay attention to the rude behavior of the owner - to be fair, the rest of the staff were super friendly.

This time I brought my friends who decided not to drink wine but to have soft drinks, and while we were waiting for the menu, we looked at our phones.

By that time, my glass of wine had already been brought to me. The owner came up to us and said that they don't have soft drinks, took my glass of wine and left.

I caught up with him and asked what was wrong. He said that we are no longer welcome here, he doesn't want to see guests like us and told us to leave and that we were denied service.

Went here for dinner and had the chef's tasting menu. It was absolutely amazing, with each dish getting better and better. The staff were friendly and the service was a little slow, but the food made up for it. We were not full when we left, that was the only downside. But every meal was prepared with the finest of ingredients and was high quality food. We had an oyster to start with, then salmon carpaccio, a green salad with pumpkin, green bean carbonara, a taco, steak and veggies then tiramisu to end the meal.
