I usually don't write reviews, but I feel that it's time to talk about Lebkov Den Haag. I've visited this place for the past six years, on and off, because the physical location has personal sentimental value for me since I met my wife in this café back in 2018.
Not to mince words, but there seems to be a systemic issue with the people working here related to some deep attitude issues and highly unprofessional behaviour.
I've had so many issues with some of the people in the past years, from constantly giving me incorrect orders, to uninterested, arrogant behaviour, to ignoring me when I said hello when I visited. And I one time even experienced, direct, hostile verbal behaviour.
I also visit your location in Rotterdam from time to time because my office is near it, and the Rotterdam personnel behaves courteous and is highly professional, but it seems that something is amiss in Den Haag.
In the past week alone, I've had multiple incidents with different people here. I'd like to share some with you.
One time, I ordered an oat cappuccino, and while I was working on my laptop, I heard the tattooed lady who had taken my order yell (actually yell, yes) the word cappuccino. It's not a terribly large place, so the walls must've amplified her yell which prompted me to instinctively say, "Here."
She gave me the drink, I took a sip, and noticed that it was a cow milk cappuccino. So I went back to her and told her that I had received the incorrect order. But instead of simply chalking it up to an honest mistake, she began to lecture me, telling me that I was wrong, and that it was all my fault and that she explicitly said cappuccino, and NOT oat cappuccino.
First of all, I didn't even understand what I was wrong about, because it's not my job to keep track of which order belongs to which customer, but she kept raising her voice, telling me that 'I was wrong'. Other customers nearby got visibly shaken by her behaviour. She then made me a new oat cappuccino with a look of disgust on her face bordering on manic. I left soon after. That was about ten days ago.
Today, I ordered another oat cappuccino, and guess what: wrong order, again. But the funny part of this instance was that when I received my drink, I politely asked the lady if she could give me a glass of water. She immediately turned her back to me and said, "Yeah yeah yeah yeah." I went back to my seat (to discover that I had received a cow milk cap instead of an oat cap, mind you), and waited for my glass of water.
But instead of getting me my glass of water, she began to help other customers. I waited several minutes, wondering whether she had forgotten about my request. When I got out of my seat, she immediately looked at me and asked a girl who was in the back to get me a glass of water. The other one helped me out, and I took a sip of the water, wondering whether it was okay for me to tell her that she got my order wrong.
As you can imagine, I was a bit reluctant to do so, because the last time I did, I got into a very off putting argument in which I was being gaslit to believe that it was all my mistake, and that 'I was wrong', 'I was wrong' and that 'I was wrong'.
Sorry, Mr. Lebkov, but you need to work on your recruitment, because whoever is responsible for it in Den Haag has dropped aaaaallllll the balls.
You won't be seeing me...
Read moreSo, so, SO slow. Thursday, 0840am. Only one guy serving coffees. Slow, very slow. The other staff member on the phone. I am pretty sure that it’s rush hour. People willing to pay an outrageous amount of money for a quick coffee before getting to work. Just after 9am a third staff member joins... just as the amount of customers drop. 🤦🏼♀️
Coffee: okay. Seats: impossible to be comfortable (i’m quite petite so if i sit, i can’t reach the table comfortably) Sandwiches: I personally didn’t like the fact that the are three half slices of bread stacked, it’s all in the details... and personal preferences (although ingredients were good quality) Atmosphere: Agree with the other reviews, atmosphere is a little sterile, but that might be the vibe they tried to achieve to avoid attracting customers who’re looking for a place to work, rather than a quick coffee (which would also explain choosing such terrible seats)
Staff might be friendly, but somewhere that only serves coffee and cold ready made sandwiched all with an expensive tag, I’d expect professional baristas making high quality coffees at a fast and...
Read moreThe place looks cute, but not that clean considering there are some huge fluffs of hair on the carpet when you enter. I paid around 9 euros for an avocado sandwich, and it was not good. The avocados were tasteless and hard, and unseasoned which made the overall taste not good. Additionnally, I took a Mokka and I do not taste the chocolate. You have to ask for a cap, and there is nothing that makes the cup holdable, so I burnt my fingers. Bad experience. (Also, they take too much time to make something that bad, when there is no one in their shop, and they are 3!!). They also messed up my friend's order. I do...
