I rarely leave negative reviews, but this is more of a suggestion for the manager to take note rather than a bad review.
We came in on a Sunday evening when it was quite busy, and we didn’t have a reservation. Despite that, they immediately found us a table – 5 stars for the quick seating.
The waiter was very polite and attentive, serving us perfectly throughout the evening – another 5 stars for service.
We ordered two salmon rolls, a maki roll, and an unagi roll. The unagi roll arrived first, but we were unsure about what it was made of, as the ingredients weren’t obvious. The waiter couldn’t provide an explanation right away and said he would check with the kitchen. Even the chefs, who were preparing the rolls, seemed puzzled at first and had to think for a moment 😂. After a few minutes, they concluded that the mystery ingredient was… egg! 😂
When the salmon rolls arrived, unfortunately, they didn’t meet expectations. The rolls were falling apart at the slightest touch, and the taste wasn’t great either. In fact, we couldn’t finish them – the combination of struggling with sushi that kept falling apart and the underwhelming flavor made it too frustrating to continue.
Overall, I’d say:
Service: 5/5 Customer care: 5/5 Quality of sushi: 3/5
Suggestion: I understand it was a busy night, but attention to the quality of sushi is crucial, especially for dishes that should be simple yet well-prepared. With such excellent service and customer focus, improving the consistency and taste of the food would make this place...
Read morePros: One of the few all-you-can-eats that has tofu on the menu Dogs are allowed Ordering from a tablet is fun
Cons: 2-3 pieces of sushi per order Not a lot of options for vegetarians and vegans On top of that, it's €1 for edamame and €1 for a few fruit pieces when getting all-you-can-eat lunch. The only dessert that doesn't cost extra on the all-you-can-eat menu is fried bananas. Would be nice if there were more dessert options to combat the salty food. Food quality isn't consistent: The avocado was underripe and hard last time I was there, so that limited even more what I could get as a non-meat eater and the gyoza were cold/not well fried A bottle of water is €7+ Even when there's only 5 tables occupied, there will be 3+ staff walking up and down the restaurant, not very relaxing. Each time that isn't consumed, you get billed for...But you can't take it home even if you've been billed for it. Lunch kitchen closes at 16.30 for this restaurant. Don't come in for all-you-can-eat at after 14.30 or else you won't get your full 2hrs...
Read moreWow. I could see how people could easily be turned off at the idea of paying €28 for an all you can eat sushi restaurant, maybe the food isn't that high quality, or maybe you don't get much food. Both of those are incorrect assumptions about Sumo. To start, there is an a la carte menu if you aren't that hungry, but I recommend going for the all you can eat option. It's AMAZING to just order what ever sushi you want to try or even ones you know that you love already! Tip - try the chicken curry maki roll, it's BLISS. The concept is very simple, they give you a tablet, and you use the tablet to make your plate/dish selections, each person gets 5 choices per round, with a total of 6 rounds before you finish for a total of 30 rounds of sushi per person!!! They don't limit you to just sushi though, you can also have the mini poke bowls, grilled meat and fish, and even Nigiri! Sashimi is extra, but didn't bother me one bit, the rest of the options were plentiful and delicious! At the end you also have your choice of ice cream which is the perfect finish to an...
