Ultramarijn — Restaurant in The Hague

Stylish cocktailbar in the center of The Hague, close to the shopping and museum districts of the city. Very friendly staff without being intrusive. Lots of original cocktails, very tasty, with some inventive flavor combinations and also interesting techniques used. Fairly priced for the high-end nature of the drinks. You will get premium ingredients, lots of unique components made by the bar staff and good service, so while the prices aren't low, they are worth it! The main floor has a dark modern decor, good seating for mostly smaller groups of 2 to 4 guests, with a couple of large tables and also quite a lot of seating at the bar. The lower floor reflects the building's past as a bank, with gold and shiny elements complementing the actual vault that is still present as centrepiece of the lower floor. I haven't tried the food (yet), but what other tables had did look nice... something to try next time! Would recommend for anyone who...

I got the half roasted chicken which was nice, nothing crazy but good value for money with the sides. My boyfriend got the pasta and it was not tasty, very bland and a laughable portion size. We also got some cocktails which were okay but again nothing special, if not a bit watery tasting.

I would come here again for a drink maybe, the interior is nice, but we were here at dinner time on a Saturday and it was dead. They even turned off the music by accident for a while. Definitely don’t think we’ll be back for food.

Staff were nice, checked in on us, but they seemed a bit short handed as we did have to wait a bit for food, drinks and to order...

This bar is beyond special. Their atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. Once you get to the drinks menu, you will love it even more. Their regularly changing menu includes drinks for every different liking and which you cannot find anywhere else. If you are more of a classic person - no worries, they also got you covered with all the classics. Do you have anything in particular in mind or an idea which direction to grad but no specific cocktail - also no problem for the lovely Ultramarijn staff. They know what they are doing and will most definitely give you a recommendation and make you a cocktail knocking you...
