Burger Federation — Restaurant in Utrecht

This place is conveniently located in the mall, making it a hotspot for anyone looking for dinner. The place looks appetising but that's the only thing really going for it. The food wasn't that good, especially considering the price. The staff made some strange choices regarding service as well.

The burgers ordered were stacked in a way that made it impossible to eat without falling apart. Both burgers had a baked egg on it, as requested, however, they didn't bake it long enough, so they yolk started spilling everywhere. The menu doesn't list how much gram the angus beef is. I had a feeling it was overpriced. The taste wasn't really outspoken. In all honesty, it lacked somewhat in taste. There wasn't a single flavour that stood out and that left me wondering what made it worth 15 euros. The nacho cheese was served too cold meaning that the cheese was near solid again making it hard to eat. The fries are amazing, they certainly did a very good job on that and I think they nailed it.

At the table there were no napkins. I received them after requesting them, but I find it strange not to supply it with the order. Also asked a side dish to be served before the main dish, but they got delivered at the same time at the table. The staff was, however, very polite and respectful. They were fast and discrete.

The place looks nice and has a certain style I definitely appreciate. The location is also amazing.

All things considered I do feel like the only reason this place is still open is because of the outstanding location. Overall I feel like you could get better burgers elsewhere, especially for these prices. It wouldn't recommend this place as it is right now if you are looking for good burgers. If you look for a restaurant close to the main station you could of course try this, just don't expect...

I'm generally a high reviewer if a place gets the basic food service right, but this place deserves nothing but the couple of stars for the "service" they provided.

We went here for an early dinner at around 4pm on a random Tuesday after doing a bit of shopping. There was about 6 tables on the go, and about 5-6 servers on break rotation from what I could see. 4 of the servers were standing around talking at the bar while 1 server was speeding around trying to serve the tables and take orders.

At this point the two empty tables next to us still had food not having been cleared and would remain so for a good 10 minutes. Starting out it took about 5 minutes for this one server to make her way over and take our drinks order, mind there was 6 tables on the go tops and still 4 servers chatting. We ordered a coke and a milkshake, which then took another 5 minutes getting to us. At this point a guy (assuming the host) came back from his break and cleared the tables next to us, then went and stood at the front desk.

Our food arrived, a decent burger, bun was cold but everything else was fine. At no point did anyone ask us how the food was or if we required anything else (we didn't), and I observed no other tables being asked at any point during our service, but assuming this is the expectation when half the staff is busy standing around chatting/laughing and the 'host' is busy standing around at the front desk waiting.

At the end i had to go up and pay, not a problem, and here the host had the decency to ask if we'd want to tip 10% or 20% to which I didn't reply.

As said, the burger was decent, but needless to say we won't be...

Visiting Utrecht from the UK with a friend we gave this place a try as we just fancied something quick and easy. Really good selection of Burgers and reasonably priced. Food was excellent with a clear attention to detail and high quality ingredients used.

The service in this place however could be improved somewhat, there are three points I would like to note here;

Please be attentive to customers entering your restaurant, my friend and I arrived and nobody noticed us for at least 5 minutes before we were handed a menu (it was not busy).

Once drinks are given to your customers give them the option to place their food order. We were given our drinks and then had to wait 10 minutes to then have to get up and go and find a member of staff to take our order.

Be attentive to your customers who have finished eating their meals, perhaps offer a dessert or ask if they would like to pay the bill. We felt we were waiting around to capture eye contact with staff members to take our bill who seemingly ignored us.

All in all good food but the customer experience could be alot slicker, I would visit again if I'm ever in Utrecht and hope to see if the above points have...
