Temptation Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Ōrākei

Been once, shocking! I placed my order at around 8pm and was notified by text around 15 mins later it'd be ready around 8:50. I turned up around 9 assuming it'd be ready and was told sorry it'll be another 15 minutes. I patiently waited another 20 minutes only to be then told my order was never placed even though the text message earlier stated it had. Without raising my voice I expressed my frustrations and told them this was unacceptable only to be told if I wanted to take this outside then we can. Essentially one of the workers was calling me out for a fight. Another worker reigned him in and tried to apologise but by then I couldn't care less and just wanted my food. Approximately 15 minutes later (9:45ish) my order was ready and they threw in an extra naan bread and coke to apologise. Thank you. However, when I got home around 10pm the naans were not the garlic and cheese ones I ordered. Overall the customer service was awful and I don't care that it was late on Friday and they might have been tired or whatever, being called out for a fight because they mucked up is not on. This is the first time that I have been to Temtation Indian Cuisine located among the Ellerslie shops. I was passing by and got a takeaway meal for 2. The shop is small but cozy enough to host a few diners inside. The interior atmosphere is inviting and has a nice street vibe with the large open windows with people walking past. The staff were loverly and happy to chat when you approach them. It is hard to find a good butter chicken when you had a favourite place already that no longer exists but this place definitely came close. We've ordered from this restaurant before. The food was very good and exhibited depth of flavour and staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, our recent experience has been the extremely average. The The guy behind counter had zero personality. The butter chicken was bland and the sauce tasted like tomato soup out of a can. The naan bread priced at $5 each were thin, crackly and frankly, tasteless. The falafal pita was also bland and mushy. After spending $40+ overall very dissapointed and won't be coming back.
