I have been here a few times and recommended this to a group of ladies I was meeting for lunch. The food was nice, and the owners' service good, but they have a young, inappropriately dressed girl working there who really let the team down. She was watched by 4 customers, stand behind the counter picking her nose, wiping it onto a tissue and then bles snot into her hand before washing her hand in the basin behind the counter. Absolutely disgusting++. I told her and the owner the same. Both stood there stunned and the owner in disbelief. The girl was sent on a break and we actually never got an apology. Have always enjoyed this cafe for the selection, quality of food, prices and friendly service. Took a friend for her birthday today. The savoury selection looked great as did the blackboard menu. But I thought that many of the sweet options looked less appealing than they usually do. The slices looked dry, and did not have the usual homemade eye appeal. My vanilla slice was good, but my friend’s caramel slice was dry. Also the English breakfast tea was really pale and lacked a full flavour, even though I let it steep for a few minutes.
