All Fresh Kitchen 沙龙 — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

Went here for dinner with my son and sister last Friday. Complimentary beer nuts for appetisers and green tea served throughout the meal. We ordered a couple of dishes each and shared. Fried hapuka, salt and pepper squid, combination fried rice, spicy braised chicken, combination meat with tofu hotpot and fried beef with seasonal vegetables. The kai was delicious, generous platter sized portions for each dish and with each of our dishes priced between $20-$25 each, it was very affordable. The staff were attentive and the restaurant had a nice relaxed vibe and our seating was comfortable. Perhaps the only tiny complaint we had is that the aircon was a tad too cold so us and many other diners left our jackets on during service. The end of the meal we were served with complimentary fresh fruit for dessert. Took a large takeaway tray of leftovers home for the brother to enjoy when he got home from mahi. Decided to check out this eatery based on reviews, enjoyed our dining experience here. Wasn't so busy during mid-week. We ordered the black pepper lamb hot plate w/ fresh veges & a side of rice, which came out smelling as appetizing as it tasted. Also ordered the fried shrimp stuffed tofu, texture was good & had a delightful sauce. Appetizers were also great w/ the salted peanuts & house-made pickled vegetables & green tea. Our server was friendly, attentive & helpful w/ selection choice. I was starving when we had arrived but left feeling very fulfilled & satisfied, w/ the generous portion sizes. Worst customer service & truthfully would put it down to race as a factor of why we received the service we did. We made a booking & they confirmed only to arrive & wait for a good 15-20 minutes outside & then be put on an a table that wasn’t set. Watching them move the chairs to a table that was fully set with no occupants, & swapping them for stools. Would have appreciated a call as they took & confirmed our number if they were no longer able to comply with our booking. We left, disappointed but not angry, while they looked annoyed, their loss.
